    update:

    N20 head studs and main studs are in production.
    I have N54 head studs and main studs in stock now.
    I have contacted my connecting rod company- unfortunately it will be the end of September before i see them Click here to enlarge

    I'll have stock head flow numbers shortly.
    porting and polishing of the head with bigger valves/springs/Ti retainers are going on these next two weeks.


    I'm flying to Cancun on saturday to work on BMW's down there for a week- so Ill have to catch ya'll on the 25th when i get back Click here to enlarge

    What was the end result on the studs? Did ARP make custom ones or are you modifying off-the-shelf studs?

    modifying off the shelf studs. its overall cheaper and works just as well.


    the difference in price for "custom" studs was like 15 bucks each :eek:

    Its worth it if you are pulling the engine apart.
    Its worth it, due to the fact you are getting much stronger rods, and better bearings as well.

    Crank and Rods are forged. Rods are very beefy for stock rods. Pistons will give up before any other parts....I Know from experience.

    Didn't see a date next to it but did you just start the mock up of the 4l80e? That's what I'm most looking forward too as I'm sure all other 6at owners with dreams of high hp! Keep up the good work! If I was local I'd come work for free

    I've been trying to come up with something that works on the bell housing, is aluminum, works, is a bolt in bell housing.....



    kind of a daunting task to make it work. especially not having a car to do it on. just an engine block and transmission core......

    but i look at it every day, its right next to my tool box!

    $3400+shipping+ labour for the bottom end...

    you're estimating about $1600 for valvetrain replace+install - is that completely on top of.. say.. the $1900 'stage 3' ? - $3500 all up for the head done?

    We finally have the headgaskets/head bolts/valve cover gaskets/timing tools for the N20's we have tore apart. That means that we can at least put the N20 we have tore apart put back together (only took 2 1/2 months :smhClick here to enlarge and we can start on the other N20 as well.
