    09' e92 335i performance project VTT S2 B2 countdown!

Hey guys, I decided I would like to start a thread on my own personal project. I have done my best to contribute where I can on this forum, and would like to continue to do so. Please feel free to offer any input/advice to this thread. The biggest hurdle for myself will be tuning, which @Terry@BMS will be helping me out to hopefully build a terrific car.

I purchased this car about 2 months ago, it had 37k miles, 6AT, black dakota leather, navi, fully optioned, yada yada (seems like most ppl list that info so there ya go). Here is a picture of the car.

    List of current mods:

    JB4
Cobb AP (now used for BMS backend flash)
    BMS Downpipes
    BMS OCC
    BMS oil cooler upgrade
    BMS DCI (white oiled filters)
    ETS 7" FMIC
ETS charge pipe with all new charge line piping
    Tial BOV

    Black grille
    BG Goofrich G-force drag radials

    Mods coming soon/on their way/etc:

    BMS 2.2g meth kit
    Turner CF M3 spoiler
    Cyba 4.0 Carbon exhaust tips

Vargas Stage 2 Batch 2 turbos with upgraded thrust option and GTX compressor wheel option
    Quaife LSD
    Level 10 Trans upgrade
    Custom exhaust

Thank for you reading/looking and please don't forget to add input to questions below!! Thank you!

    Questions:

    1) Which tuner should I use to log, Cobb AP or JB4

    2) I've gotten to the point I can log, and create table in ATR, but can't figure out how to graph it...

That's it for now, thanks in advance!!

You could talk to Terry and he could probably manage to put both your JB4 and AccessPort to use, cant wait to see #'s

You'll be able to data log more channels through the AccessPORT, but I don't know if you'll be able to accurately data log with the JB4 installed & active.

I forgot where, but I think in the N54 section of the forum there's the Zasquatch Data Log excel template

Yeah, he'll be helping me with the tuning, already have the BMS flash loaded running with the JB4, just not sure what difference there is in regards to logging between the two. I can't wait to see #'s either lol.

No later than next week I will have some numbers for a starting point to get a baseline before the turbos. Will probably take a little bit though to get tuned in.

Thanks for input, i'm not sure either on what all the AP can do while running JB4, will be testing it out this week/weekend though. Will look for the Zasquatch Data Log excel template though, thank! (will rep ya as soon as I get to 100)

I don't think the V-band would every actually get in the way, but for good measure, made sure that the wastegate actuator would never make contact.

Hopefully these will be installed soon as well. Plan on seeing how stock mufflers sound with straight pipe plus race resonator from downpipes to OE mufflers. We'll find out...

you already have the JB4 and AP. That combo will net great numbers. No need to change. plus the meth control of the JB4 is awesome.

you cannot log with the AP while the jb4 is installed if it's a G5 ISO. the only way to log with AP is if you're running a non-ISO board and its on map 0 i believe. if you're that concerned with logging all cylinders, you'l need to just go cobb pro tune and get an aquamist HFS meth kit.

I say stick wtih the G5 and AP combo

Never said I wanted to change tuners, I bought both for a reason.

Thanks for clearing up the logging question. I will get out and do some logs asap.

Nice, I was hoping you weren't leaving the center grill out, the intercooler sits to far back for that IMO.

Will be heading to the track Saturday night, meth kit will be installed by then. I'm sure I'd already be a bit quicker with just adding the JB4 to the mix and backend flash. It certainly feels more powerful at WOT now. Time slips will of course be posted with hopefully some datalogs and a video.

Tonights project is going to be routing the USB cable from the JB4 to the glove box (forgot to do this the other day when I installed the JB4) pictures of that will of course go up for anyone interested. I will probably do something a little different than what's found on n54tech DYI.

Yeah, I'd like to do a splitter or something on the front, just can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.

Ok, tonight's project was pretty simple. Ran the USB from the JB4 into the glove box. I saw the DIY on n54tech and honestly that guy made it harder than it is. If you haven't done this yet, take the 10-15 minutes to do it, really easy.

    Here are the pics.

First, obviously remove all necessary parts to get access to the electronics housing. Then locate this tab I'm pointing at to release the section of plugs closest to the firewall.

You can see in this image the section of plugs that are released, simply pull up after releasing the tab and just let this lay on top of the other wires. Don't unplug anything, you're only asking for a bigger mess then.

You can see where I routed the cable being sure it was pushed down all the way so that it would be underneath the plugs that are going back into that location. The entrance to the firewall is underneath that vertical "tunnel" that you see. At first glance you'd think you can just run the cable to the bottom of that buy you can't, have to go under it.

This is where the cable pops out in the passenger footwell. I'm assuming anyone can figure out how to take off the cover with star screws underneath the glove compartment.

Then I simply just ran the wire up through the opening behind the glove compartment (not through the hinge though, there's a bigger opening reaching further back on the right side in front of the amp)

I tried to do a couple logs, but there was too many cars on the usual test road

Super clean look, I love it. I probably won't get wheels until everything else is done. I think I found lip I like that makes the stock bumper look pretty good. we'll see may pull the trigger on it next eek.

Hey guys, just a small update. Got the meth kit installed last night. Unfortunately track must have cancelled the event that was on the schedule cause it was shut down when I got there...

I did get and do a couple pulls today. Here is a log of what's currently running. Map 3 with 40 boost additive and 60 flow scaling. haven't touched boost yet. Will get a dyno this week/weekend and go to test and tune thursday night.
