    i'm actually pretty excited for subaruboost/this networks answer for the FA20/toyobaru cars... since i'm 99% going to have access to one, i've been reading the major forums for them now, and they all suck so hard. so much sucking.

    LOL.. This thread actually has nothing to do with returning the tablet. The thread was about a free software and cheaper cable flashing solution that may have some people wishing they could return their tablets. Its basically a form of taunting sarcasm. But to answer your question, I do believe there is a return period of 30 days but I don't know.

    Trying my JB4 G5 flash today with the BT cable. My car is an 07/06 build (K-Line).. Had the JB4 set to map 0. 10A Charger connected.. Tried first with BT software and drivers still installed. When ID'd the ecu i got values for everything but voltage. I removed all the BT software, drivers, BB and its drivers and rebooted .. Did a fresh install of BB and its drivers and now when I do the ID, i still get 0 voltage and now nothing in the Status box. Tried a read and it sat for 10min w/o giving me an estimated time so I aborted. Logs attached.. first is from initial attempt, second is from second attempt.

    After that I tried several more IDs.. the results would be different.. sometimes no vin, sometimes got a status.. weird.. I tried various USB ports and I know the cable is good because it works fine with the BT software.

    Thanks for any help.. if I should post this elsewhere, please let me know where..

    I bought the tablet when it first came out to $#@! around with it. Returned it for full refund minus shipping. They only give you 14 days to return it.

    When I asked Shiv about their claim of 30 day return, he said that Rombinhood is giving 30 days....not Vishnu. Sneaky $#@!s IMO.

    Sadly some people only get info from one forum, or no forum at all. I mean even though I mainly stay on this forum, it's not my ONLY source of info. No matter how great I think it is, I always double check everything cause at the end of the day it's my car that matters to me, not repuation on a forum

    So back to talking about Vishnu...

    Have you guys seen their newest thread? 470whp and 533wtq on straight E85 and no meth... Pushing over 20psi on the stock turbos.

    Someone asked: are you willing to provide your back end flash for those who wish to load it with the "other" option and a BT cable?

    Shiv replied: "We will be providing our XDF file for the backend flash on our website. So if people want to load it through another flashing system, they can do so. I just can't guarantee how it will work."

    Is this just his scare tactic? If we patch our original ROM with any XDF file and load it with the BB flasher, is there a possibility that you get a different result than flashing with the OFT?

    I mean....how many ways could you possibly flash the DME? I have to believe that everyone is going about it in the same way. If you only flash the area of the DME that has to do with tuning.....how could it work differently even if the OFT flashes other parts of the DME?

    On the tuning end what works for one car doesn't always work for the next. For E85 max effort setups I suggest 18.5psi (map 7), 12.5:1, and around 13 degrees max advance. That's good for around 450rw without meth/stock intercooler. Most high pressure pumps can keep up with that provided they have a functioning low pressure pump upgrade in place. Adding an IC will help sustain that during more than single gear pulls.

    At 20psi and around 13 degrees of advance, adding meth, we've made around 460rw, in 70 degree weather. Maybe on a cold day with say 21psi and 15 degrees of advance that could make 475rw. I'm not sure. But I don't think that can be a very stable or effective tune in the real world. Recognize dynojets are lower load so you can push things too far easily without much consequence. The runway is another story all together. So my advice would be if someone wants to push things beyond the already very aggressive 450rw level then be careful. The first sign of problems will be high pressure tanking. When that happens it's possible to induce momentary lean conditions in the combustion chamber and good bye piston. Using meth will help mask high pressure pump deficncies so I think it's a must personally over 450rw stock turbo.

    On the flashing end, a BIN is a BIN. So modify your own, load one of our canned maps, use one of Shiv's maps, whatever. It's just a means to load tuning changes. How you change the tuning with them is another story all together.

    If he is offering up the XDF's, then thats good of him. Personally, I would never run someone else's tune on my car, especially one that is 'breaking records' in a territory that would give one the feeling of 'maxed out'. If conditions don't favor your car then that tune could be less than ideal for the health of your car. I think people need to just sit down with their thinking caps and do the actual work and get those XDF's defined. If he's offering the XDF up for grabs, then defining it should be a breeze. With proper definition of the BIN files, we will have pro tuners to handle the other issues or home tuners to do the fun part.

    Its just a back end flash meant to stack Procede on it for mapping. It would do no good to run the flash on its own.

    Ah I see I glossed over that detail.

    In that case I'm not qualified to answer or have any insight to that question as I don't know exactly how their back end flashes operate.

    The software is free. Finding maps is your business.

    If users want to upload maps that is up to them.

    I'm currently working on providing a cheap canned tune solution for people. I'm also working on providing a solution for tuners to upload maps that can be purchased.

    No amateur maps have been uploaded yet but anyone is free to do so. Keep in mind the database has not even been up for a week yet.
