I was only joking, but your contributions to making open source a reality is much appreciated. Hopefully it will come alive by the time I get new turbos.

I checked out KSD (BMW's labor guide) real quick. I'll bet independent times are less. I'm sure I can knock off 1-2 hunny off that price.

you don't think it, but like I said- parts to do the swap are about 500 bucks. Gaskets/oil/coolant/seals/orings/feeds/drains/etc

Last quote I just received was 20hrs for install at $115 an hour. I wish Alex from abrhouston was closer to me. His price with all the parts and labor was much cheaper.

Damn, this is only about a 10-12 hour job at most places. BMW book says 16. You are getting hosed!

Yeah, I'm not paying that. That's just what they quoted me. Currently searching for other shops. I dropped my car off at bmw today. I should know tomorrow night if they are going to cover it or not.

And, knowing about oh- 20+ independent shops in Houston (since the majority of them use me to work on their new BMW's they can't figure out) I KNOW they don't sell these jobs for 10 hours John.

Bmw just called and they said your wastegates work great.......I said what about the rattle? They replied I didnt hear it rattle. I asked what about my wastegates getting stuck open? They said it they worked fine for us.....your car is pretty quick. Wtf. Not what I wanted to hear. They claim that they would replace them under warranty if they thought they were a issue, but currently they don't feel that way.

He said they did tests on my wastegates and they were good. I replied I don't undeestand how when I can grab the one from the engine bay and shake it all over the place. It's sloppy as f*ck. They didn't charge me anything, so it doesn't appear like they are trying to screw me. They said if I still have problems to bring it back, but obviously I'll still have problems if nothing was changed.
