We stay with factory bore size, just a little bit oversized it to the next clearance.

    Engine reassembly finished

Today we finished the engine reassembly. We still need to configure the VANOS, code the new injectors, have to put small parts on the engine. We will use OKADA coils and HKS Iridium Sparkplug (gapped to 0.22"), which comes from Mini.

Good stuff! Unless you made the top of the spark plug hole bigger by machining it that HKS plug won't work. You'll be able to lower it in the head but you won't be able to put a socket around it. HKS are too wide. Just go with the NGK 5992 Iridium.

Good point. I wanted to referring to NGK 5992 Iridium (from MINI). These are the plugs we have (not yet install).

with the upgraded turbos making a lot more power and torque, you'll probably run into the false knock issues on the stock dual mass flywheel? it's fairly well documented.

As long as the DCT flywheel is not dual mass/sprung, you should have nothing to worry about. I think these guys missed that it was a DCT car.

Its not false knock that is encountered. It is a false misfire that is picked up due to vibration in the crank, picked up by the CPS sensor.

Can it occur in DCT car as well?

yeah that's what i meant.. knock = misfire in vernacular over here - didn't know it was caused by the crank>CPS though, interesting. complex issue.

Knock is "very" different from a misfire Click here to enlarge one can damage an engine while the other is just an inefficient burn

    Upgraded brake master cylinder

We have installed our (f10 m5) reworked/upgraded master brake cylinder into my n54 with some custom fitting. We use upgraded cylinder to supply the larger Brembo brake calipers (8pot/6pot).

    Wastegate actuator

1 wg actuator is already installed today. Space restriction is everywhere...I have purchased Forge actuators, but we decided to use OEM actuators as they perform better.

    Custom made intercooler

Due to space restriction we have to rebuilt our custom made intercooler. We decided to have two inpipe and one outpipe connection. Not yet finished.

Good call ditching the Forge actuators, they’re needlessly complex and simply not needed IMO.

Where is the space restriction? I’m too lazy to go back through the entire thread, is there a larger rad or something taking up space?
