    VTT Stage 3 - anybody ordered the GT25R option?

    I am curious to know if anyone is thinking about getting the smallest turbo available for stage 3 Vargas.
    Would those spool much faster than the GTX60r for example?
    Those should provide a huge improvement over hybrids i suppose

    i don't think anyone has, and there really wouldn't be much reason to, as it's not a HUGE saving

    the smallest GTX wouldn't exactly spool super slowly, and the GT25 would be severely limited power wise.

    Tony was going to do another run of the manifolds with smaller primaries that he thought would increase spool substantially. I'm waiting to see how the spool on those looks.

    Fueling would be an even bigger issue on those. It's a bit ill advised unless a real hpfp upgrade comes along soon.

    Ask Tony, he's the one who said it. It was during all the back and forth with Shiv regarding spool on the twins vs. the single kits.

    We fixed spool with the manifolds we had, I am not going to go j to specifics but the DME was pulling opening the gates even when we told it not to. After some testing we were getting full boost by around 4400 if I remember correctly. I posted a couple logs somewhere. With the production manifolds being 1.25 instead of 1.50. We will pick up even more spool.

    Sounds awesome Tony, can't wait to see results. Although your batch 2 stage 2 turbos look pretty darn good for my application as well...

    With those changes for Stage 2 I would be really surprised to see anybody buy Stage 3 GT25Rs instead.

    Really big difference between a journal bearing turbo and one with ball bearings in terms of longevity...

    Just sayin, all things being equal (which, of course, they never are), I'd go for the more robust turbo... and turn up the boost!

    I suppose. But I've always had good luck with Mitsubishi turbos that weren't Chinese knock-offs. They lasted at least as long as I wanted them to last.
