    No.

Far too traction dependent and no consistent way of measuring.

The VBOX measures it. And we all already know 0-60 is 90% based on traction.

Yes, it does, but as you said it is all traction and becoming less and less important these days.

Well, wouldn't it be a good tool to see who can hook well and who can not? I say it doesn't hurt to add it, but up to you fellas.

That is exactly what a 60 foot does... and keeps it off the streets.

    Sticky,
What stall is your converter? How are you launching? Are you possibly boosting up too much at the launch?
On the C63 I launch from 800-900rpms and floor it because it only has a 2400 stall converter. Just trying to help.
Also, are you running an aftermarket spring package that is stiffer because that will hurt your launch/short times.
I run the stock springs for drag racing because they are softer and allow more weight transfer.

0-60 on the 11.24 run was 3.38 seconds according to the Vbox. Great track conditions.
    Good luck and be safe!

No converter, car is dual clutch. I use the launch control feature at 5500-62000 rpm, Drew uses a mash technique.

I actually got 60 foots into the 1.7X range, so the stiff suspension is not hindering too much. Plus, I can adjust it to softer settings which I keep it on at the track.

The last two times out, the transmission would overheat. So, I could not really burn out and heat the tires and just mashed it going for trap speed. I will be trying for ET the next time out as the transmission issues are resolved.

I saw the work on your fix for the tranny, it looked solid and promising. Have you tried it out yet?

I have not tried it yet, no. Have not really spent much time with the car at all... just how it goes if you want to be at the cutting edge.

    Sticky,
So I understand correctly that you are launching at 5500-6200 rpms?? HOLY CRAPP!! Click here to enlarge
No wonder your tires are going up in smoke. Click here to enlarge I think you are going to have to back off to a more reasonable number in order to get it to hook unless you can run full slicks and then look out for the rear end to come apart. I know you are a drag racer and understand all this so I'm just sharing my thoughts.

An aggressive converter for that car would probably be around upper 3,000 to lower 4,000 rpm's if it had one. With that being said can you try launching at 3500rpms and see if she'll hold? Okay, I am ignorant to the DCT tranny but I was just trying to think through it logically. If I'm way off then I'll be quiet and go back to racing the MB. Click here to enlarge

Yep, 5500-6200 rpm and my tires were not going up in smoke Click here to enlarge My transmission was overheating.

You are thinking logically in a traditional manner, nothing wrong with that. The DCT is very difficult as you can't stall it or load up a converter. I tried mashing the gas and that did not exactly work for me either... I'm going to try a few different things this next time out Click here to enlarge

    Nice going Drew!

    A few corrections:

For my Stage 2.5 run, it was with 0 shifts. Done in 4th gear only

For my Stage 2 run, 1 shift (3rd to 4th).

    Thanks!!

Thanks bud, for me it's about the performance, personally I don't have a major problem with all the other forums, although one could argue they all have a slight bias one way or the other and yes it seems that they ban people at times based on what kit they run, lol, however they all offer valuable info for us. Glad you are here posting Bro, it's more for people like you and I who live for this stuff.
