Automatic Transmission for 335, any interest?

Manual transmissions cause a delay during gear shifts. Thats what made me choose an auto trans.

I have been using an automatic transmission for the last 1 year.

Auto transmissions shift with zero loss of time and zero loss of boost pressure.

This kit is not like a TH400, BMW 750i drivability.

Will there be interest for an auto transmission for 335, stock or modified?

I can build a kit where there will be an auto transmission, tcu (transmission control unit), propeller shaft, bell housing, torque converter up to the use of car, trans oil cooler and some more goodies.

Gear shift speeds, gear change engine speeds can be dialed in as per request.

Part throttle light load shifts are smooth.
Wide open throttle shifts are darn fast.

Gains: faster times, faster shifting, no drama in traffic.

I was going to keep it for my M3s, but I may build complete kits for the public.

You won't find too many customers for it with that price range...i say make it hold to 7200rpm and 700whp to cut the price down and you'll have probably your hands full..of course, you'd have to provide data to back up the claims in the n54 community...no one buys anything without proper testing on an actual N54

    Dzenno,
    9200 rpm / 1176 whp is tested on E46 M3,worked good.

I am just trying to gauge interest.

I have used this transmission kit on E46 M3 twin turbo and it worked very good.

Now we have put it on my E46 M3 all Wheel drive and want to go sub 3 seconds 60-130.

At the same time, I am installing the same tranny onto my E36 M3 Euro Twin Turbo to better my old record of 4,49 s. I plan on going 60-130 mph in 3,49 seconds with my E36 M3 Euro TT auto tranny.

What I am trying to type here is that I have 2 very big projects going on at the same time, built in house at my own garage.

If there is enough interest I may buy a E92 and build the tranny kit on that E92 335.

The gist of the story is: auto tranny worked perfect on E46 M3.

It will work on E92 as well.

Price; well this is a custom kit, its not cheap. But it will allow you to drive in stop and go traffic, shift like Nissan GTR, and cure the shift related issues.

For that Money it is impossible.

Imagine there is no core exchange.

    A new transmission
    Reinforced internals
Torque converter to stand the 1000 whp and torque
    Adapter housing
    Oil cooler for tranny
    Transmission controller
    Propeller shaft
    ARP shaft bolts

When you add all these the cost is at lest 16-17 k.

I am not even sure if I want to take all that hassle as I have two very special projects at the same time.

Just want to feel the interestClick here to enlarge

    Sub-10k, you'd have a business opportunity. Over 10k, people will say $#@! it & just do a 6MT swap

Can you get lower quality parts that are not made of kryptonite? That will only hold say 700whp rather than 1200whp

I know what you mean, but I have not tested a cheaper system yet.

I would have to test a cheaper trans on my M3, but I wont, as I dont have enough time to test a different system. At the end of the day, this is my hobby, I applied the auto transmission on two of my M3s and now my 3rd M3 Twin Turbo getting auto transmission. So its all about a passion and I wanted to share it. But I cannot design and test and re-test a cheaper system, simply no timeClick here to enlarge

That's an amazing auto trans you haw there Mert. But the N54 people would never pay for it. Many complain about the Vargas TT kit that can make upwards of 700whp, and it's only 8k lol. Most of the n54 people are pretty cheap when it comes to mods. And yeah 17k trans would be stupid for an N54. Don't even waste your time bro.

Its not that we wont pay for it, we just could not justify a transmission the same price as our cars. It puts you completely upside down in the car.

If you could outsourse the stuff, or get it from somewhere else, or just a lower quality, you could do great things. Or give the information to someone that is willing to do the testing, Like Tony or Terry (etc) you never know.

    3-5k = Huge success
5-10k = Still sell a few to big turbo guys
    10K+ = Hard time.

I have 4 M3s and 2 of them have auto trannsmission and both shift like Nissan GTR.

One of my M3s is All Wheel Drive and Auto.

It seems that this auto tranny kit's price is not acceptable.

To be honest I almost have no time for an auto transmission kit production, I have 4 M3s to work on.

I will keep on playing with my toysClick here to enlarge

Yep. Can't say that I would buy it even if I had the money. I would cut my losses and switch cars at that price. Lots of people looking for a solid, middle of the road option, 7-800whp.
