    E36 M3 vs Buell Bike

My friend got this bike for a great deal and we decided to see how this odd match up turned out. Turned out for some great racing

    S54 E36 M3

    3.91 gears
    6 speed

    vs

    Buell XB9s

If that video isn't sped up for the M3 in car vid, that has to seriously be the best sounding s54 I've ever heard. More details plz.

You officially have the baddest sounding S54 I've ever heard...I need some of that in my life. What kind of headers/IM are you running? Can't get over how bonkers that thing sounds at full whack.

    Thank so much,

Early Bimmerworld Carbon plenum and single 3" exhaust with a Vibrant resonator and muffler here (way to loud). Eventually the set up will be Epic Headers, 3.5" and the Vibrant super quiet resonator, it is loudd, too loud.

Sounds framing awesome! How much does it weigh?

What does a S54 swap costs these days? I'm tempted.
    - edit $3500 or so. I wonder how easily this goes into an E36 (DME, wiring).

What exactly does a "race tune" consist of? Never heard of that before

I could've guessed you wouldn't with grandpa's car in your signature.

More aggressive parameters. It's like a Cobb Accessport. It has base-street-track 'race' settings

    Thanks

They weigh about 3300lbs with full interior. 2650 stripped out with a cage.

You can do it cheaply yourself and cut corners for less than 6k (assuming you can code the ECU and modify the wires correctly yourself) but to have it track ready you need

    S54 - $6000
    Forged anodized Rod Bearings -$1000
Wiring for Alpha-N and tune -$3800
    Airbox - $3000
    6 speed (preference) -$1500-2000
High lock out diff for new trans - $1000-3000

Cool. 3300lbs is just about e92 weight. 2700lbs with cage is nice.

With my roommate in his 335, it's around 3500-550. So there's about a 250lb difference i'd estimate. His has carbon hood, trunk, ltw flywheel, full exhaust and forged wheels. I was quoting the race weight. I think I could shed another 70-80 lbs with the trunk/body panel/battery additions

All estimates though, but pretty accurate. My car was 2980 on the scale with the S52, 5 speed and 8 lb flywheel. Lacks all three of those now.

2600 race weight is ridiculous! Yeah, my race weight is near 3700lbs (full interior, heavy driver).

My grandma could drive an automatic car quickly in a straight line. Perfect example:

Before that, why don't you hop in that boat you call a sports car, drive 50 mph in the passing lane all the way to Louisiana, and show us what that thing has. I'd say bring it to the track, but you would probably hit a wall after losing control due to one hand on the steering wheel at twelve o'clock.
