We can't turn back time, unfortunately.
Time doesn't need to be turned back. BMW needs their balls back.

Sorry Sticky gotta correct you on this one. You are wrong..

    1,924 kg (4,242 lb) Coupe / 2,056 kg (4,533 lb) Convertible

Correct me if I am wrong but this weight was taking from BMW.com Wikipedia, car and driver and motor trend.

Makes sense - I thought the M6 was a few hundred pounds less than the 5.
    It's not.

I'm going by what was directly stated by BMW in their press release: http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...nd-curb-weight

Until we get some independent weights that is what I have to go by. I don't know where you got your figure.

Unladen weight and curb weight numbers aren't really representative of what cars actually weigh on the street. The best thing is to use a publication (Road and Track is one) which actually weighs cars they test.

    Examples (from R&T.com):

    2013 GTR Premium
    Curb Weight: 3890 lbs.
    Test Weight: 4090 lbs.

    2013 BMW M5
    Curb Weight: 4360 lbs
    Test Weight: 4525 lbs

No data panel for the M6 yet.

But BMW's own press release differs? And why does the M6 pull away from the M5? It HAS to be significantly lighter there is no other explanation.

Exactly waiting on the M6 data panel however the M5 and M6 going head to head show us each time the M6 comes out ahead. BMW's press release shows the M6 as quiet a big lighter.

The numbers for the M6 convertible show similar 1/4 mile times to the M5 which means the coupe will be faster due to being lighter...

I agree the evidence, press release, and even magazine reviews show the M6 is lighter. Strange that the 2 BMW corporate web sites quoted in this thread have the (seemingly) wrong data though.

It wouldn't be the first time BMW mixed numbers up.
