    The E46 uses a MS S54 ECU. The Z4M uses a MS S70.

I have heard other things like 'the the MS S70 ECU is very similar to the M5/M6 ECU's', but do not know.

    The M5 & M6 uses a MS S65 ECU and as most E90 guys know, the M3 uses a MS S60 ECU.

I do know that the E46 M3 (MS M54) is a five connector ECU and the Z4M (MS S70) is a two connector ECU.

    For what it is worth...

Trying to find info on the MS 70 is tough as Siemens makes so much crap all kinds of things come up.

I'll keep looking, but that is good info in your post.

Yea, this is very interesting info...as I always wondered what exactly is the big difference and problem with custom tuning. Nice input guys! I'll ask around as well. Cheers
