Exclamation Getting totally fcuked off with the 335i

Ok changed about everything boost side [other than the turbos] changed all the vac side [ yup Terry i checked the vac system as you recommended] and still getting 30FF. Car is no fun anymore, was more fun stock!

Cant even hit 5500 rpm now without throwing a code on map 1. Ive almost had enough. The only thing left is the possibility that the JB4 is playing up, is this possible? Would it be worth me buying a complete new unit [G5] to rule it out?

Got to do something, this sint fun anymore.

    Rant over!

Yeah I don't understand why people don't just email us for support. Would take maybe 5 emails back and forth to sort out what is wrong with the car. Instead they do public forum support and often approach suicide before its sorted. Anyway if you want up needing any help feel free to email!

I know. I'm just saying... I read your last thread and I was thinking to myself wow this guy really should have just emailed me. Because I sort these things out all day. Click here to enlarge Since it's not via email I don't know where it stands, don't have any of your data in front of me to look at, etc. You've spent all this money and time on crap you probably didn't need. The right tests will isolate parts so you only replace the bad ones.

But as a general rule of thumb if the G5 board has an issue for example it will make zero boost. Not just half target. One easy test to rule out software & board hardware is to throw an old G4 board on. Lots of those floating around these days.

Heading out to lunch but looked at log. It's a G4 board so my first suspicion is maybe someone did the 15ohm mod and botched it? I've seen that before. Sent a short reply and will get back to you after lunch. Click here to enlarge Those G4s are a dime a dozen though. Post up on your local forum and I bet you can find someones to borrow. Since you're in the UK it would take at least a week for your G5 upgrade to arrive if you ordered today.

I reply fast and normally with the right info. But I do keep them brief which rubs some people the wrong way every now and again. We do what we can to keep everyone happy though. Click here to enlarge

Anyway a 30FF code on a G4 board on map 1, no code on map 4, is normally an indication that the board has been molested. That it was bought used makes that scenario even more likely. Swap the board to a working one (be it a new G5 ISO, or someones old G4), and you should be in business.
