The gearing change really doesn't matter with the E92 M3 as it doesn't calculate based on speed like the E46 M3. So you can change your gearing all you want and it will still shift at redline correctly.

If in S6 he will always have to shift manually in that mode obviously. I find it better for max performance to shift the car into D5.

right, thats what he said, he was shifting it.

your saying that changin wheel and tire sizes wont impact rpms?

Affect gearing, yes. What mph you may be at at a certain rpm, yes. But when you shift it will still be the same RPM drop and the car will still know to shift at redline despite whatever gearing changes you do.

I found even when NA and letting the car shift it would rev so fast it would hit the limiter on the 1-2...

I would want the extra RPM simply to prevent hitting the limiter when in manual mode to prevent bending a valve spring. Simply some extra RPM for peace of mind as the DCT to shift lever connection isn't quite as accurate as one would expect it to be. The tach also is off a bit.

can u adjust the shift indicator on the tach to come on prematurely to negate this rather than raise the rev limit? atleast for 1st-3rd?

i noticed on the smg the paddles are more responsive than the lever.... is this true for dct as well?

No but the SMG responded better IMO. Didn't shift faster but responded better to input.

yea, i've only flushed my pentosin once on my car and that was in conjunction with a hard teach in on GT1; you shouldn't have to flsuh it unless it's gotten contaminated.
the fluid is expensive. perhaps having the calibration ran thru again at indy shop or dealer. if dealer make sure you have them charge you only for the time it takes to run thru the dct programming.

With the Vortech V3Si supercharger, it's making the real power after 7.5ks (especially when you compare it to a Rotrex Supercharged S65), so by extending the redline you get some extra ponies & slightly larger power band. Additional benefit is post shift you're a few hundred RPMs closer to the Vortech's "sweet spot"

Well, we were able to get ahold of Roman at ESS, and he had zero idea why we would have this issue and told us to email AJ, the ESS tuner, and had no luck. Brought her to the track for a test run to see if fluid change helped. First run tried regular launch control. Car bogged super hard but no issues shifting. Next run tried poor mans launch control. On the 1-2 shift it didnt up shift, got out of it and smacked her to3rd (dct bars went from 6 to3 again) then on the 2- 3shift same thing, wouldnt upshift. Got out of it and packed up for the evening. On the way home I tried a 1-2 shift at 7800 rpm. Car shifted, but engine light came on and a 7000 redline. Pulled over, stopped car and restart and it went back to normal, but a service engine soon light is now on. Andrew at AR pulling codes tomorrow to see whats up. Im staying out of throttle until we figure out the issue. I have zero desire to blow a DCT.

AJ had no idea eh? Roman is just marketing, not a tuner.

AJ said he had not seen this before. Not sure anyone has. Will be at the shop in a bit, will continue to try and diagnose the issue. I believe he tried to short shift at 8100 one pass at the track, and had same issue.

OUt of curiosity, would the ESS DCT Software make a difference?

Worst $#@!ing luck ever.... On my way to AR Design, and some $#@! runs a stopsign..... Car isn't driveable. Something is wrong with steering/suspension now and the steering wheel is kicked sideways when car is driving straight and the yellow brake light is on. Thank God she had insurance at least.... Seriously, this week and this car has pissed me the $#@! off. Looks like more down time.
