Vargas Stage 2 turbo results 19 psi conservative tune

OK guys, here's the results Click here to enlarge

19psi tapering quickly off to 15psi. Peak HP was at 5600rpms and boost was only @ 15.5psi. The tune is definitely on the conservative side(like i said it would be) which makes the 170whp delta pretty freaking impressive.

Baseline was 279/300 but the dyno operator didn't save that pull.

I'll be going back in a couple weeks time to push them and get some "kill mode" numbers Click here to enlarge

@rader1 , good numbers buddy! not bad for a conservative boost curve. Can't wait till you dial it up. I guess it's not only about peak numbers with these, it's mostly about the area won under the curve especially at the upper rpm.

So I guess the engine delivered this power effortlessly ?

FBO stock turbo 19.5 psi puts down about 440 rwhp

i think ur dyno reads low, run it on dynojet (smoothing 5)

*RB turbo only on pump93 without meth 16 psi puts down about 440 rwhp Click here to enlarge

On E85 or Race Gas it's possible to get those numbers with an aggressive tune but on stock turbos with 93 + meth no way. These turbos and his tuning have a lot more room in them. Read above where he said he isn't going for world records on this tune.

Really needs to be a dynojet for comparison. Looks promising though!

So Rader is that the only type of dyno in your area? I guess you could take it somewhere else next time "when you have time"?

dynos are so tough to decipher... I think everyone should post NO correction with DA or explanation of conditions. 7% is applied here, so I assume you are at some altitude. And the ambient pressure is actual, NOT relative like all weather data reports, so can't calculate DA with the formulas I have... but I'm guessing around 2000.

anyway, good numbers for the tune... I think 17ish at 6k would be fine. JP is <65% WGDC here, but he's at sea level I think. I'd love to see an RB WG log... thought I had one, but can't find it.

Are you running meth? If this is just pump gas, IC, DP's. This is a great set it and forget it solution for 450+WHP.

The thought of having a car with a minimum of additional systems (FlexFuel, Meth, piggybacks) but having 150+ delta increase sounds VERY appealing to me. Makes trouble shooting SO MUCH easier and lowers the chances of needing to trouble shoot!

    Nice results @rader1! Couple questions:

What type of dyno is that?
Does your turbos have the upgraded thrusts?

Yes, I'm running meth + 93 octane. In the hands of an experienced tuner I feel confident that 150+whp deltas on 93 is entirely in the realm of possibility. Keep in mind I'm just the average Joe learning and feeling my way through ATR(hence the conservative start.) The guys at PTF would probably have these things making stupid power in 3 map revisions and that's why I'm getting dyno tuned by Jake soon.

    Sorry, I missed your questions.

It is a dynocom dyno. They aren't very popular so it's hard to find a good a comparo but they tend to read lower than dynojets from what the operator said.

Yes, it has upgraded thrust parts.
