    Need help please!

I just replaced my valve cover gasket and followed a DIY. Car started fine and I took it for a test drive. Once warm I gave it some gas and it threw a engine malfunction and a DTC error???

    Only code pulled was
    2A97 Crankshaft sensor, gap failure

Could this be due to a bad gasket install? and loosing pressure?
I tightened everything down to 7lbs but feel this might not be enough...

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Regards,

So I found a few post that suggest that either my crankshaft sensor came unplugged or that I need a new one.

Since it happened immediately after a valve cover DIY then I would suspect that the CPS is unhooked or damaged.

OK, I have a good update!
Tightened all of the bolts on the valve cover again - Check
Track every plug and sensor and make sure they were plugged in - Check
Found the Crankshaft Sensor removed it and cleaned it up/re-install - Check
    Still problems...

Terry comes to the rescue once again! He suggest:
    Remove CPS wires from JB4
I do this but do not jump the wires... This is why I was not getting a signal.
Jumped the wire and happy days!!!

Thank you for trying to help, I appreciate it greatly.

Yeah, I was def. getting pretty anxious there for a second. The biggest thing that scared me was that the DTC error but it looks like it is all tied together. Car goes in for RB's on Tuesday and was afraid that was going to be put on hold... Still don't know exactly what the hell but am happy it is fixed.

Odd CPS would act up after a valve cover change. But with the flash, it's obsolete anyway.

Thank you everyone for trying to help me resolve this so quickly! I am so excited to get the RB's installed that it is driving me bonkers! lol

    Terry,
Yeah, the whole CPS thing is really odd but the car seems to be running perfect now. I will monitor it closely the next couple days to ensure nothing else is bonkers. Big thanks to you again. The way you treat your customers is more on the level on how you would HOPE friends would treat each other. THANKS!!!
