Thumbs up OWN HISTORY - The ORANGE HPF WIDEBODY M3 IS FOR SALE - $49,500

Here's a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of history. Yes it is true, I am selling my Orange HPF Widebody M3 ($49,500) and the 28 ft. HPF Trailer w/built in winch for ($6,900). The car runs and drives great. In the past year I have only tracked the car once and we are raising capital for development on newer models.

This was the first E46 M3 to ever have a working turbo kit on it when it was blue. It was then turned into a street/track car with the first Asuka widebody kit in the world and was painted pearl white. After that it was painted orange and turned into a full blown track supercar. As most of you know, this car is the real deal. It has been on the cover of countless magazines. It has set nearly every horsepower record for the E46 M3 over the years. There are so many mods (over $150K) done to this car that it would take a day to compile a list.

Bring your truck to Portland and you can drive them both away.

Not sure if it was directed at me or him but I see where he wrote they want to invest money on other platforms. Guess even HPF has to move on from the E46 at some point.

It's a good deal If the car is mechanically sound (which they say it is). I think $ 49.5k is cheap for all the work done to this!

That is a firesale of a price. But the market is also limited for someone who wants a 700rwhp+ tracked out M3 widebody. So while the market is slim the price is certainly right.

    HPF Chris

Does the development for newer products mean you're not going bringing out the new AEM for the E46 ?

    And,

Which new platform do you think you'll venture on to ? If you want to keep that underwraps for whatever reason, that's fine. I was just wondering.

I am surprised that they need 55k in cash to be honest...regardless it should be an awesome car for the new owner. Would this pass inspection in CA? If it can only be used at a track that limits the buyers.

That car wouldn't pass smog. No HPF cars will, very few cars can pass smog after an F/I upgrade.

That said owning multiple cars that have little to no development purposes anymore makes little sense. If AA held on to every car they've ever used as a platform they'd have a warehouse full of BMW's dating back to the 1980's. I think HPF has exploited the platform about as far as they can and its logical to move on to another target.

I wouldn't say this going up for sale means they "need" cash just that it would be extra to invest. I mean, if he wants to sell something he got his use out of why not instead of dipping into other sources when this is a perfectly fine asset that requires no additional investment?

Very true, but personally I would want a garage full of my accomplishments. I just hope the new owner drivers the $#@! out of it.
