Arrow N54 Turbo Upgrade Chart (Detailed)

So with the appetite of more power there has been a lot of news regarding upgraded turbo’s for the N54. Not until recent, have there been several options for this engine. Many people through the forums and treads have been asking the difference between turbos (specs, price, power, etc). Here it is visually in one place. With the success with the N54 Tune Comparison Chart that has helped so many make decision on what tune to choose from, here is the N54 Turbo Upgrade Chart. The chart is in .PDF format so you can go to links associated with the text.

I'll be collecting new data as time goes by. The chart will be updated accordingly. That said the features listed in the chart are what is currently available in the market.

I can see the ensuing wars here. Click here to enlarge

One thing that stands out to me is the FFTEC pricing. I know they list a bare-bones price but then to get the BB turbo they post their results with, a downpipe to fit factory exhaust systems, and a return pipe for the wastegate dump, to match up with what Vargas offers, it's $1095 extra according to their site.

Also on RB turbos FWIW we've made around 525whp @ 21psi and I think Dzenno made 550whp with around 25psi.

It was from my understanding. He also had head work which probably helped some too.

I see many RBs under 500, How many people other than the tuner's cars have put down over 500 reliably?

Pretty sure it was his headwork that helped the most. I followed the thread for that and they increased the headflow by a large amount. Right now the head is the major restriction

Thats why I state 93+. Everyone uses mix of 98, 100, 204, 109 to much to state. Most people will just fill 91 or 93 from pump.

Keep me in the loop with any new finds..Thanks

Might as well... As long as he can keep it updated because you got a TON of information that will rapidly change. I also highly recommend using customer only dynos, using an SAE or STD standard of smoothing 5 or 0 or whatever is decided on. A push to SAE wouldn't hurt the community either, since we've got the power there is no reason to hide behind std anymore.

I would say the best thing to do is to post an update of the graph and I will edit it in.

@AltecBX . This may be a bit overdone but what about hyperlinks to the Dyno Graphs and or threads? Leave it up to us to do a little research, as far as SAE/STD/0 - correction factors, smoothing, fuel, Dyno, ect. Adding every little detail on you chart will get silted.

    nice work

It's not going to be an hourly thing no big deal. Just use the @ mention system when you do.
