    DSS halfshaft for AT cars

    Hi brothers

I got some news for you all.

I been on mail with DSS , and they agree to make parts to get upgrades for AT halfshafts too.

    Requirements are 10 customers/orders

and a set of halfshafts to work on (used will do)

PM me mail and I will add to list

How to make this work ? We get 10 interested people , we find a set of used halfshafts and share the cost of these. Then DSS will start the work on making upgraded halfshafts for us too.

I will come back with more info later. And feel free to ask questions.

    Have a great day

    Noted Terry

Current status is , waiting for price on AT upgraded halfshafts.

And also if broken halfshafts can be used as cores or if we need intact ones from our own car or salvage yard.

Since I live in Norway and DSS need some kind of core from me when time comes to produce my upgraded halfshafts , it would be likely that I pay for the core halfshafts DSS need to start work on production on these. And these I hope someone will aid in finding from salvage yard or some broken ones located in the US. I`ll pay for these of course Click here to enlarge

I will keep this info updated on daily basis.

Please PM for interest and also supply email , I will email you when we have reached 10 or more and when important info is given.

Shafts from MT are interchangeable with AT. At me one shaft from MT is a little thicker, than from AT.

Yeah , we can use broken ones as cores Click here to enlarge Good news for many here , but we need one complete set intact , not broken to do the initial measuring before production.

Maybe try to send DSS the AT half shafts immediately, and see if they could compare them to the MT ones. The flange at the output of the differential and the hub at the wheel are not different between AT and MT cars according to realOEM. The AT half shafts may be different, but not in a way to would prevent the MT DDS shafts from being used.

That would be great , a set of AT halfshafts will be sent to DSS , then the initial measuring will be done , and then we should be able to get real answer if we need to produce new halfshafts for the AT cars or if the MT upgraded ones will fit as well.

    It's 100% interchangeable, trust me!

    awesome!

    thankyou!

    335i 6AT:

    Rmfd-output shaft, left LK=86MM/D=38MM 1 09/2007 33207580945

    130i:
    01 Rmfd-output shaft, left LK=86MM/D=38MM 1 06/2006 33207580945 $413.51

turns out the 130i apparently has 335i 6AT halfshafts on both the AT and MT... so if the 6MT 335i shaft is confirmed to fit, happydays!

sooo... guess i could well be in assuming i decide to keep stock subframe/diff and what the timeframe is Click here to enlarge (if there's anything to be in for... otherwise i'll just have to get a set straight from them lol)

I think Tomaz is correct. I believe I have gone thru a right MT half shaft over the course of my ownership lol

As I found out yesterday late night , our AT car`s produced prior to 9/2007 had the 35mm , after 9/2007 both MT and AT have 38mm

Im hoping that this concludes that we all can use the current MT DSS upgrades.

Owners with AT cars need to get hold of MT halfshaft or AT halfshafts produced after 9/2007 if they are going to send DSS cores to build their upgrades.

    Am I right ?

And just to be sure , someone here have a AT car built before 9/2007 and using DSS halfshafts ?

AT Owners with cars built after 9/2007 should be in the clear to use DSS upgrades MT.

I feel 100% sure halfshafts are identical towards diff , I am little insecure in regards to if they could be slightly different towards the wheel hub/bearing. But logic says they should be identical there to. Important to be 100% sure , for you all who have pre 9/2007 and especially me who are going to ship these overseas. Would be bummer of the year to go all the way and come to a brutal stop when doing the install.

Now the hunt for core halfshafts have begun... I need one set ! Sammy is going to help me look over there , if any know of some usable cores , let me know.

Realoem does not say anything other than the picture posted , in regards to hub side. Or did I miss a spot ?
