    BMW/Diesel parts

I've got about $5,000 worth of damage on my car (DPF and NOx sensor, among other things) that BMW isn't repairing on their dime, so trying to get rid of some stuff I've had laying around:

BMS LED Angel Eyes @ 6000K
    DTUK 335d Piggyback Tune
    VAC 335d Piggyback Tune

    LMK if you're interested.

The alternative at this point, since the DPF is fried, is to now find someone that can remove the whole POS emissions system on the car and code around it. Might be a cheaper option, and since the car doesn't require a sniff test, it might be the best one. I'm interested in hearing of anyone that knows of a shop who's done this, or knows what's entailed to do it.

Is it possible to delete the DPF and re-code on USA spec cars? I've been reading into the 335d as I've been thinking about getting one possibly, but if I did I know I'd want to take out the DPF cats and EGR cooler.

I realize this isn't in the FS/FT subforum, but there's so few diesel guys on here, I figured it'd get more views here, Joe. Move if you need to.

my car will be done this way on 7 May. I finally found someone who will remove and replace the DPF and install the new intercooler(+ software adjustment all in one) but it wasnt easy(in germany). But if you do the hardware setup by youself the coding shouldnt be a problem for any tuner.
You could even try to just remove it. I read about a guy in the german e90 forum that removed his dpf on a 320d and didnt even get a error code (until now). Even when pushing the car hard. You obvioulsy have to use a pipe where you can install all the sensors. Removing the sensors will give an error for sure.

Yeah, sorry..been dealing with a lot of stuff. Damage estimate went up to almost $7,000. Basically, I torched all my emissions equipment (DPF, NOx sensor, diff pressure sensor, gas exhaust temp sensor, gas exhaust pressure sensor, SCR cat, SCR mixer), and the dealership refused to warranty. Looking into an SCR cat delete on Mon/Tues, as apparently the front part of that cat is clogged, so I'm considering a straight pipe. Also thinking about having the same guy core out the DPF for now to remove the rest of the restrictions. I put out $2500 to have all the sensors replaced, but I'm not spending an additional $5k to repair the rest. They're too restrictive, and have proven to be more of a headache than they're worth. I've read that DPF removal also provides a healthy increase in gas mileage, and better opportunities for tuning.

Not as far as the tunes are concerned. The JBD, for example, is identical for both the 335d and the x5 35d. The other tunes are no different in that respect.

good to know, thanks for the info.

sounds like you're gonna have one hell of a performer once that 335d is finished.

So, after some work under the car today, I've determined that my SCR cat is clogged. Unbolted the DPF from the midpipe and let it run free, and all the power that was lost because of it seems to have returned. My issue before was there was no power at all, going up hills was a serious effort, and the car would continually go into limp. That no longer seems to be the case. Should be visiting a fab shop tomorrow to have the SCR cat removed and replaced with a straightpipe. As a side note, the car sounds beastly at the moment.

i got it all out today and the wagner IC installed :-D
but now the turbo howls(maybe it did before, but i dindnt realize it. After a tuning im always slightly paranoid :-D), i hope there want be a turbo failure in near future. On the other side my old 120d had a howling turbo since 2004 ,it still howls but has near to 200 hp. (a friend of mine has it now).

SCR cat is being cored out now, and I'm removing the mufflers, as well. Also not reinstalling the SCR mixer, as it was additional restriction.
