    Stretching Graphs?

Here is me replotting (in paint, please let me know if there are any errors) Vishnus World record 708hp dyno. The stretching makes it difficult to see whats really on there, so I've replotted it out in a square instead of really wide graph that many people probably have to scroll their screens for.

    EDIT: Comments?

I don't know about that but here is a lower boost run I did a few weeks ago with RB turbos. How is this for a flat power band! Click here to enlarge

Not surprised, the more you stretch out the X-Axis on a graph, the "flatter" the curve becomes. It's a simple perception trick that works on foolish people who don't know how to actually read graphs.

Anybody could easily look at the graph & see how differently the X & Y Axis' are scaled.

Doesn't really change anything. It's still the same data. The holy $#@! moment happens between 3K and 4K.

To put it in perspective. Which powerband is going to be better at the track and easier on drivetrain parts? HMMMM. I bet 3.46 gears with this would be disgusting.

On a track I'd tune a more linear boost curve. Depending on which track of course Click here to enlarge

    +1000

The last thing you want on the track is a lumpy boost/torque coming out of a corner.

Unfortunately, Vargas adopted the same misleading tactics with their latest stretched 725whp dynos. As much as I don't like piggybacks I have to admit that Vishnu is one of the most copied tuners...Click here to enlarge

No, after he specifically called it out; he made a point that he would do the same for comparison's sake. It is Shiv that decided to deviate from the norm in the first place. If you're going to try to shame someone over a decision; at least try and understand yourself about why they made the decision in the first place.

Would someone please do a pre-stretch versus stretch graph to show the difference?

And how does one go about stretching anyway? I've never felt the need to do it but maybe I don't see the BS people option in the dynojet software?
