I'm not talking about that. Power delivery of a car with great suspension and a big turbo really isn't all that great. I'll take a GT3 thanks.

    We're going to compare a gt3 to a supra....

the supra would likely still lap faster too haha

... Not saying i wouldn't take the gt3 over one if i was offered it...

    True... Pure.

i will always agree that a high revving high powered N/A engine is as pure and perfect an experience as it gets, and the gt3 is at the top tier.

Meh. It's really not THAT great now. It was for the time. But outside of the engine it has, it's not really all that special. It got by on handling numbers by grip alone. The steering was still the typical Toyota numb feel and it didn't do all that great in quick transitions and tight tracks. It can be upgraded to be awesome. But then you can do that to a lot of cars Click here to enlarge

i dunno about over there... But japan/here(aus) supras definitely are still competetive in timeattack rwd and im pretty sure they still race in some jgtc stuff?

i don't mean unmodified, thats no fun to compare haha... Stock, they were in fact a tad porky lol

i never thought they steered numbly though, at least not the handful i drove

Stock suspension? Absolutely not. The time attack supras have all the bushings replaced, helps a ton with the steering feel. Stock Toyota steering is almost always numb as hell. The FRS and IS-F is much better.

I was talking about stock vs stock. The Supra handles better than the 335i stock for stock (but not much, and mostly due to LSD); but won't touch an M3 with a 10 ft pole.

Yup. The interior was so advanced for the time; I LOVE the driver-centric cockpit. And it has this $#@!ing eyesore of a steering wheel. It's worse than the C6's running Malibu steering wheels since that wheel actually flows halfway decent with the rest of the car.

You manage lag the same way you manage the low trq in a M3, put it in the right gear. Newer smaller turbos make the same or more power and have little lag.

A stock supra has pretty respectful handling and very good brakes even by today’s standards. Improve the suspension, coil-overs, LSD, brakes and tires etc… and handling, braking and grip is amazing.

Love my M3 especially with the SC has all the bells and whistles and while it may do some things better, at the end of the day if I had to pick one, it would no doubt be the Supra.

Lag and throttle response down low aren't the same thing.

I'm sorry to hear that but your opinion. If I had to pick it's the high revving NA motor especially a V8. But that's me.

Ohohhhh we're talking stock... Yeah, fair enough. M3, even an e36, compared to a supra...

They already said there wouldn't be excessive testing until the new LSD, DEFIV Lockdown & some other goodies got installed, so it might be a couple weeks before we see 1/4 mile & 60-130 times.

Pretty sure he said they'd be doing E85 testing this weekend; that and resolving the spool issue (and it looks like he found it).
