E92 m3 gintani supercharged 60-130 vbox runs and more

went out and did a Vbox pull today in my E92 M3 DCT Gintani Stage 1 Supercharger and on 1st attempt, hit 8.95. This was with wheelspin before the 1st shift in 2nd gear.. and more from 2nd to 3rd. so lost some time there, can def shave some time off when i get new tires...way to much tires spin, back end slide alot.

managed a 8.95 on a slight incline (around 0.34% uphill) with 3 shifts. With some new tires can definently improve my time.

This was with the Stage 1 Gintani Supercharger setup, 5.5 psi, 91 octane, full interior ect.

Drew and I were discussing this earlier: http://bimmerboost.com/showthread.ph...ull=1#post4457

I think you can do low 8's.

You need to run some MS109 and go out in the middle of the night when it is coldest. A nice sea level spot with a slight decline would be great as well, heat the tires before hand. Good job!

You will definitely see it, but I also need to be careful with what information I release.

You could tell from PencilGeek's responses in another thread here that he is basically hanging on me releasing a 60-130 time and dyno so that he will be able to deliver the information to ESS. I don't want to give them the recipe, let's see them post some performance numbers for once. It is a wait and see game apparently right now...

I won't guess (though I am sure I would be close, PM me Click here to enlarge ), and I will need to see the difference with the new goodies Click here to enlarge

    I'm also considering longer gearing.

Robert posted that Roman's DCT M3 VT-575@ 5 psi, hit 9.4 but it was on a 3.5% downslope, he said the next best time was 9.7, but to be fair Roman stated he wasn't really trying for good 60-130 times during the runs and it was at 1500' elevation. So those times are not official from them. I know he can do better as well, regardless I love seeing these results.

+1 here.... this is some of the best advice!
The only thing I have to say is.... I bet you can get into 7's with all the right conditions.
That is a lot of power for a little boost. Now , I see why. The s65 has 12:0.1 CR, so high CR with a little boost= BIG power.

    Congrats OP.
BTW, what does a stage 2 make power wise???

I don't know if there are official stages but I would assume Stage 2 would refer to meth and more boost.

Congrats Sammy, that is a great time considering your first time out, the relatively low PSI, and pump fuel.

I too think you can get into the low 8's or high 7's with race fuel and the right road and conditions.

BTW, I just saw a pic of your white manifold and I LOVE it! You planning on staying with 5.5psi or thinking about more power?

I think ESS's e9x kit looks very good and hope it performs great, however...

From what I have seen from ESS over the past years, they make a lot of claims, and barely ever show any substantial "proof". Proof being independent buyer's dyno's, VBOX runs, 1/4 times traps. A manufacture's own dyno's only mean so much to me....

I could not have said it better... so nice to have people who get it here Click here to enlarge If I was on m3post and said something like that 50 ESS fanboys would come in with nonsense discounting the 1/4 mile or real world results.

Dyno numbers only mean so much, especially when that tuner posts uncorrected numbers trying to show higher peak figures....

We have a similar situation with the MazdaSPEED community. We call it the unicorn effect. We are the only company to make efficient numbers with big turbos on the MazdaSPEED platform. Another company is claiming to do it. They made 428whp on their shop car (shop is registered to his house) and NO ONE has seen it in person since their fuel upgrade (single throttle body in an injector spacer) was put in. 428whp at 22psi on a t4 67mm turbo. Maybe I am new to big turbos (sarcasm) but 22psi off that turbo is 5xx territory. We made 428whp at 19ish psi on a t3 3076 on customer vehicles. Hence they started what we call "The Unicorn".

I hate when people "jump on the bandwagon" without anything substantiate their beliefs. Maybe you can have people agree to a vow when they sign up here to not be blinded fanboys/bashers, lol

OT, but I was thinking of a MazdaSPEED3 for a daily but read that they have a good amount of torque steer, I can't even imagine the torque steer with 428rwhp if that is true.

FWD Click here to enlarge But its manageable. My first project car was a regular mazda3 with a gt35r built bottom (8.1:1) and top (rev'd just shy of 8700) and custom transmission and gearing. Still FWD making 5xx on race gas. 12.0x @ 128 was my best street tire time spinning for most of it. Never got to try it on slicks. If you want a fun daily check out the MazdaSPEED6. Same engine and its AWD. That is what I had prior to the 335i. So far we are the only company to make big power with DI on that platform.
