Adding Remote Immobiliser / Anti theft
I am adding a simple tracker to my car (UK 335i), one of the ones you can phone/sms to and it pings back an Easting and Northing for its location. (based on a mobile phone sim card)
Now, the system also has the ability to trigger a 40A relay in a 12V line, to cut a 12V feed. So i can phone the car if its stolen and it would cut the engine, while it is driving. (at less than 15mph)
What is the best way to do this? Fuel, spark or something else? Would cutting power to the fuel pump cause damage as the engine runs lean, or would it be too fast for that?
The car is running a procede system, so which wire/pin could I set the relay to cut?

Why don't you put it inline with the ignition relay? There must be a relay that is energized by the push to start button once it has been pressed twice.
If you can't find that, put the relay inline with the power supply for the coils.
