Just to throw gasoline on the fire... I was bored while waiting on code compilations and doodled this.

Keep in mind, the dataset isn't exact and that I really suck at this. But it highlights the area under the curve difference. This is 91 ACN Stage 3s vs 93 octane Vishnu.

@654 I was unable to find the chart originally that showed the Vishnu kit making less power after 4000rpms because I had lost it. But I found it.

    Here's the FFTEC/Vishnu on 93

    Here's the Vargas Stg 3s

And here's the Excel graph I made to highlight the area under the curve differences:

Ah an old fashioned $#@! slinging fest. Gotta love it. Results are results, don't know why people get so butt hurt over it one way or another.

My dog in the fight is the N54 platform. I've picked my 'winner' based on the data I see, but I can't help but be happy either way. We will move forward kicking and screaming Click here to enlarge

I do believe methanol will be in the vtt stage 3 setup sooner rather than later without an upgraded HPFP solution. Even Rb's are showing HPFP limitations when pushed to maximum potential.

The above sounds a bit more like preignition to me. But, you are correct. It's a balancing act. There are aspects of what Shiv is saying that I agree with. It's really his presentation that is the issue. Dzenno is doing the tuning so he gets to make the call on timing vs. boost and EGT vs. detonation. He's the only one that has seen that data and while at first thought running that sort of power level on 91 octane on the N54 seems pretty questionable to me, I don't see where Shiv or I really have any right to condemn it. Maybe we're wrong and it's 100% solid & safe. Without analyzing the data we can only speculate.

Overlay time. FBIS/FFTEC's dyno was stretched to match the wider VTT chart. Did my best to keep the data points lined up and it looks like it turned out pretty well.

    Enjoy!

It's great to have the dynojet overlay just like that illustration as it's clean.

Not a Shiv supporter or anything but isn't his tuning approach to cap full boost and increase towards redline to achieve a flat torque curve? I'm not sure this area under the curve comparision is apples to apples as boost can be targeted more aggressively on the ST setup if tuned with the same low timing strategy.

It's been said but it's worth saying again, if that is what he is saying separates us, all he has to do is turn up the boost and run it to prove his point. They do have their own dyno at FFTEC, seems like a pretty easy thing to do. He claims his flat tq approach is to save the drivetrain, We're running stock everything except clutch and the drive train is holding up fine with no hard launches. LSD and axles are next, so we can run the car after tuning.
