    Cool **E36 325i with S54 Swap and an RMS Stage 2 Supercharger Kit**

    Now here is a car I wouldn't mind owning. This car started as a black 1993 325i coupe. The owner came to us to talk about his options for increasing the power output of his car. We went over several options from a supercharged S52 to an NA S54 swap and a supercharged S54 swap. After a few days to think things over the decision was made. He dropped his car off and the transformation began.

    The car is currently fitted with an S54 mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The sub frame and all of the suspension and brake components were swapped for factory E36 M3 parts. We fitted the car with factory m3 front and rear bumpers as well. We built a custom aluminum radiator and installed a motul oil cooler behind the kidney grills.

    On top of that the car has an RMS Stage 2 Supercharger kit. We installed our S54 Super Sport headers and mated them to a custom dual 2.5" exhaust system. She made 445whp at 7500rpm and 10psi. Rev limit was set to 7500rpm per the owners request.

    This is all running on the factory ecu with our EWS delete software.

    The car is now off to the body shop to be painted and we have some 18x9 and 18x10 apex arc-8 wheels on order for him.

    Can you run the S54 on the original 325 tranny or did you swap that out as well?

    Not sure why he wanted to keep it at 7500 rpm.

    He doesn't need the 8000rpm limit. It's a street car and he will rarely be in that rpm range.

    Well you are rarely in 7500 rpm too. But that extra 500 rpm makes some power...

    True, he can always do that. Seems he is concerned about preserving the motor or reliability.

    Yes, preserving the rod bearings.

    Chris, I am now going down the path of swapping the S54 into my E36 M3. Its a better platform, and a stage II supercharger setup would be awesome. What did you have to do to get the S54 kit to fit into the E36?

    @Irishace

    I agree. The S54 is a great choice.

    I don't remember any real differences between our standard S54 kit and the one we installed on this car. It is essentially identical. The only thing we did differently on this car was the radiator. We installed a larger radiator and mounted it further forward. The only thing I can think of that I wasn't able to check here is crank pulley clearance with the stock radiator.

    This would not be a huge issue if there was minimal clearance. There is a lot of room in the e36 chassis to move the radiator further forward and it doesn't take a whole lot of work to do.

    Other than that small detail, the kit bolts straight in just the way it comes from us.

    The swap is about 15k parts and labor and the stage 2 kit is $8495.

    There's a lot of work that goes into a swap like this. It takes a lot of time and patience to get it right and have it look nice when you pop the hood.
