Sensor broken can't identify what it is on XI

This sensor piece is broken by the driver-side wheel well. I believe is a yaw or speed sensor but can't find the part in tischer or realoem.com.
Can someone tell me what it is?

    Thanks

    Thanks Sticky.

It could be the headlight sensor, but I'm not quite sure. I need to find that piece on tischer or realoem to order the part today.

Yep. Hard to tell from your pics what if anything exactly is broken. Those two pieces come apart, the part at the end of the lever where the sensor is has a a clip on it that slides off. I would take it all apart and look carefully to see if you could just snap it back on. I thought I had broken mine when I was installing some shocks and it was just the clip needed to be pressed back on correctly.

Oh wait a minute I looked at the blow up ic and clearly the little plastic tab thing (that the bigger metal rod attaches to) on the sensor is broken off. So you are going to need at least #1. It looks like 5 (the metal rod) is OK, I can see the busted tab hanging off of it.

I thought so to but it's broken where I labeled "Broken off here". That plastic part is broken where it connects to the metal rod. What do you think I should order? 1-7?

Yeah we're cross posting, I looked at the blow ups #1 tab thing is clearly broken off. You may only need #1 though but take a closer look. The rest of the parts on the fiche is brackets and clamps see no reason to buy those unless yours are bent.

    lol, yea I caught that.

Yea the rod looks a bit bent so I guess I'll order #1 level sensor and #5 regulating rod.

Glad to have helped. What happened to cause this if you don't mind me asking? That sensor is kind of up out of the way.

It looks like the guy who changed my struts must of broken it off. I was changing my fmic a few weeks ago and I notice that piece was hanging there. I just pushed it to the side, as you see on the pic, and I want to now address the issue since i'm leaking from the middle of the car, looks like the tranny.

But The level sensor, what exactly does it do? I've taken corners and the lights follow with the wheel.

I would think it levels in the vertical direction, as opposed to turning side to side. I have no idea though. Now that you mention it I wonder where the side side signal comes from. Steering rack maybe?

edit: yeah it is called vertical ride height headlight aim sensor

Now I can't figure out where the other sensor they show is, #8. I only remember one in front, #1.

edit: OK that must be the rear sensor, they show the same diagram for the rear. I remember the rear looking different though, with a ball/socket sort of clamp.

The part number (37146784696) comes up as a height sensor

I guess both must be used in headlight leveling, I was wondering if they are used in DSC for stability control as well. Would be funny if you fixed yours and DSC/DTC worked better. Odd you get no error code, everything other tiny little thing seems to throw one.
