    Vishnu single kit

This may be a stupid question but why has no one bought a vishnu single turbo kit, put say a 6466 or 6266 on, and have it tuned by someone else?
Turbo lag is the on ramp to the highway which is power.

I would buy this kit have the flange cut off put a t4 on along with a sound performance quick spool valve, run a manual boost controller to control the opening of that and then run a 6466 divide housing.

Here is a better one; has anyone purchased Skinrock's hell of a deal single yet? I highly doubt it; that was a perfect setup for this type of thing and no one still wants it.

I believe i read that if you contact FFTEC directly, they will sell you just the hardware. For the wastegate to work properly you will need to weld the wastegate flange onto the turbine housing, so some custom fabrication will be required. You also might run into space constraint issues with the QSV lowering the turbo an inch or two.

If I would want a lot of power, I would just buy the kit as is 2nd hand. I believe that's the best power/price ratio dynoed so far. Spending extra on quick spool valve, another turbo and running into the likely consequent fit headaches is not worth it. How much is the market price for a 2nd hand kit? Anyone who thinks WDBi would pay the list price for a brand new kit and then some for converting the kit into twin scroll w/ QSV must be out of his mind, LOL.

Would anything stop you from running a Cobb map set to run 18psi (or 20psi, or whatever) and then just setting an external electronic boost controller to 18 or 20psi also? Make your load target flat (would probably require a little tuning to get the curve right) so the req boost would be flat-ish across the board. Would the DME freak out if it were 1-2psi off? The boost is being controlled but the DME just doesn't know it isn't controlling it.

I guess the question at this point is why go through all of that hacking to make it work when you have a twin setup that works with OEM tuning easily.

It would work in theory. I think getting to actually work, will be a little tougher. D or Terry would be able to shed much more light on this than I would.

WBDI. a 6466 custom single kit is just a few weeks from firing up.
And like someone above said.. cheaper to build it custom if you want to go with a bigger turbo, unless you can get bits and pieces from fftec? either way soon enough we will see how those and other tuning theories go. Click here to enlarge
