LMAO Click here to enlarge @VargasTurboTech --- Look at these $#@!s who thinks all it took for the Stage 3s was some turbos, metal tubing & welding?? These guys got balls for complaining about the pricing of the Stg 3 kit, especially for something that's going to work with any tune & operates identical to the OEM turbo/WG setup

LOL, I know it takes more than just putting a pair of turbos together.
I've been researching different turbo's and came upon that. I wanted to put it out there to see why aren't more people getting together and making them work for them. I see many people complaining about price from different vendors, but don't actually do the work themselves. I hope you're not referring to me about pricing on the Stg 3 kit, as I'm interesting in going with VTT Stg 2 sometimes next yr.

I keep seeing a lot of people complaining about turbokit prices, I'm thinking they're too used to the Chinese turbos.

He probably just doesn't know what is involved in taking turbos and implementing a kit around them. It's a lot of specialized & skilled work.

The FFTEC manifold is pretty nice. I do appreciate the simplicity of a single for an all out race application. My issue with it was the o2 sensor placement which they assure me isn't an issue. But given the turbo is ~$1500 I think the manifold/pipes should be around ~$2000. Add in $500 for a few CNC parts and a wastegate and the full kit (to connect to OEM exhaust, etc), should be $3995 or something like that.

Agreed. It IS a nice manifold. But given that its a single, cheap precision turbo; and the downpipe is an option you have to upgrade for; I'm wondering where all this extra cost came from? It's markup. Which is fine, he can charge what he likes. I think it's a bit high given the issues they've had, but whatever its not my money.

But the point is I did not see the pushback against Shiv's kit that I see against Tony's. The pointed passive-aggressive attacks I see are unheard of in any other community. I did see pushback on Shiv's kit on this forum; but I find the detractors of Tony's (especially the ones complaining about cost) were the same ones worshipping Shiv's kit not too long ago.

There has been plenty of push back on Shiv for his pricing. But since he was the only game in town it didn't really take root. I think now that other viable options are cropping up it will open a few more eyes. Probably why he was leaning so hard on Tony on e90post.
