Paperwork shows the 079 injectors. That's why I said it was weird they would only change 5 of 6.
Im going to have to go under the hood and verify.

Injectors had already been replaced through recall once before.

were you having problems recently? is that why you went back?

(sorry if it was stated earlier, as I did read this thread a week ago, but have not read ALL posts).

    No worries.

Went in for long cranks and wastegate rattle..
I figured the long cranks were because the HPFP was going out. Pump tested ok according to the dealer and they found after further testing that I had 5 bad injectors. (Fouled plugs also)
Also had a problem with oil consumption. Don't remember what their fix for that was but the problem was addressed.
Turbos were replaced also. All under CPO.

edit: battery cable recall was also done.

FWIW, Canadian dealer just replaced 6 261 injectors for me. Canadian guys will have to wait a bit since there is a "stockpile" of 261 injectors that need to be exhausted first.

Curious what the oil consumption issue fix was, if you recall or come across it please update.

Sounds like it's gonna be a dealer-by-dealer kinda scenario... If they've got 261's in stock, they'll do a simple swap. If they're all out, then hope you're still under warranty or you're out of pocket for 6 new injectors Click here to enlarge

Are you still under warranty or did you foot the Canadian $ bill?

Confirmed via local Dealer that if you need new injectors, you'll be replacing all six and at this time it is not an extended warranty part or something they will replace "in good faith".

As much as I love the N54 and the phenomenal performance that can be achieved with basic bolt-ons & a tune, it is DISGUSTING that there have been this many problems associated with a motor that aren't caused by us modifying the car -- Any one at any time can fall victim to the common problems associated with this engine: High Pressure Fuel Pump, Wastegate Rattle, now 3rd Revision of Injectors, Water Pump & Serpentine Belt are all way too common. In addition, you've got plenty of people that will attest to the headaches & ridiculous costs BMW associates with Intake Valve Cleaning (an unnecessary evil of DI motors) & the premature leaking head gaskets.

I agree, but on the bright side of things: this motor handles the power quite well with stock internals. Go do this same stuff to a Honda or a Subaru and see what happens Click here to enlarge

Mine did. Spotted oil puddled around spark plugs when I changed them. Took into dealer who good willed head gasket change. Luckily coils hadn't rotted which can happen due to the oil. Birds said I was fortunate as head gasket is cheap on parts but pricey labour.

Cannot argue with that.... Just wish it was a little less fussy.

1st post, welcome to BimmerBoost. Yea, if you look around you'll see this is more common then it should be. Lots of people notice when they change Spark Plugs/Ignition Coils (whether it's for normal service or to address a misfire) and they have an unusual amount of oil them.

Do you mean valve cover gaskets? A HG will not show up on your plugs, as the oil (or coolant) will get burned by combustion.
