The difference between the S3 335 / SC M3 and the SC M3/ TTG.

Thats what I was saying, trying to compare those two, dollar for dollar is crazy.

its highly comparable for what you get e9x -e9x, its a few k difference

its ludicrous to compare an e9x to a TTG..

I agree with LM, all in, after suspension, FBO, wheels, lsd, clutch work, Stg 3, a 335 will be close to just buying a m3 and throwing a supercharger on it. To make the 335 a complete car, like the m is, you need to add those other mods. You cant just throw a stg3 on a stock 335, i mean you could but it would suck as a all around performance car.

There's a whole lot of drama for something that hasn't even hit the dyno yet LOL. At the end of the day it doesn't matter wtf is inside there until the results are infront of us. If we were buyers of the product and thought we were getting turbine wheel X and got turbine wheel Y then we might have some grounds to complain, but until then who gives a $#@!.

Once the results come out that's when this matter becomes relevant, if they are subpar you can start putting blame onto the turbine or whatever, but if they put out acceptable results it doesn't really matter. If anyone remembers the custom turbo's I posted a while back they had a similar sized 11 blade turbine (although clipped) and it put out amazing results.

As for custom wheels, they are extremely easy to source, it just takes an email and a drawing/sample.

I will admit though it probably would have been best to refer to the wheel as "custom" from the start since you could now make an argument that that the marketing was a bit mis-leading, but it's not like any of the complainers bought the product so why complain? I never bought anything so I don't feel mislead...

Right now, it's more like comparing an S3 335i vs. a Whipple CTS-V Coupe. Both are classy, refined cars, but make their power in two very different ways -- TT I-6 vs. a Blown V8

    Isn't a SC for a M3 like 30 grand? + the car?

You could buy a 335 and s3's. for 30 grand.

I looked for a while, like 3 months, your not finding a well kept m3 for 30k, more like $40k-$43ish plus....

    Also, the 08-09's may or may not have had a bearing issue....so now your at 46k - 50k + for a 2010 +.

But again, if you buy the same year m3 and same year 335 and you mod the 335 correctly to try and make it close to m3 ALL AROUND performance (suspension, steering feel, braking, etc.) your very close in overall cost of the project to just buying a m3 and supercharging it.

    Edit: I thought you meant the m3 is 30k....just re-read your post. No a supercharger isn't 30k

UMMMMMMM -- They start ~$8k and go to $15k for the 650 HP kits. AND because people are parting out their cars a lot more often (end of lease, trading in, etc), there's a healthy amount of used kits up for sale.

SO basically, you're spending the same amount of money to get the cars to an comparable level:
    • E9x M3 + S/C + Exhaust
    • E9x 335 + VTTS3 + Tune + Bolt-Ons (Intake/Exhaust/FMIC/Meth/etc) + Suspension Upgrade + LSD

The sad reality is unless you're driving a 1M, the M3 will always feel more planted & solid as a driver's car. BUT if you wanna get a E9x M3 above 600 WHP (or near 700 WHP like the VTTS3s), you're gonna need to lower the compression & a bigger blower, AND that's when it gets expensive.

What happens though if something breaks on the m3? You can buy a long block n54 for $3-4k and an AT for less than $1k. I can't imagine what a replacement motor or dct would go for on the m3. Still, the m3 will always look, drive and sound way better than a 335.

I agree. I looked for a while for an 08 M3 w/ roughly 40-50k miles and i had no luck for a similar price as my car :/

The thing is, i've babied my car since i've had it, i know what its been through, if your buying a m3 with 45k miles on it and 5 years of life, who knows what the owner did to it.... plus i think there will be some awesome cars coming in the next 5 years that may be more interesting for me (m2, s3, amg's, new m3 etc.)
