    I'm liking where this is going so far. If tightening the waste gate rod proves useful I will do it on the shop n55 once I get it apart to do the downpipe.

    The eccentric shafts are what the Valvetronic motor turns, which in turn affects the lift of the valve, either increasing or decreasing it. Think of it as a partial VTEC type thing, where Valvetronic is like that 3rd big lobe on the cam.

    Perhaps they are wearing abnormally? When they introduced this into the E65 7 series, they had a whole bunch of problems, especially during cold starts, where it would cough,wheeze, backfire up the intake and run like a small block chevy with a 298 cam in it, until it sorted itself out into a steady idle.

    i stand corrected about the shafts. i've been beating in mine for 11K miles and no problems so far, at all.

    I hate doin valvecovers on valvetronic engines cuse u have to recalibrate the motor after you bolt it back together. Big ol song and dance..
