Contemplating ESS stage 2, any comments/reviews/thoughts?

Hey Guys, I am thinking of putting the ESS stage 2 kit on my 2008 550i. Just wanted to research thoroughly before pulling the trigger. So any insight would help.

Honestly, haven't seen much info on the N62 stuff. I'm sure it's a reliable setup and positive displacement is a good choice for a blower for that motor.

LOL, must've missed the post that started that.

@Sticky , so far I know only one guy that has the ESS stage 2 kit on his 550. He's had it for over a year, over 12k miles and no issues. My setup will be a little different since we live in California and EVERYTHING has to pass CARB Click here to enlarge Not that worried about smog checks. Plus I figure 6 PSI of boost shouldn't be too hard on the internals.

With mild boost you should be fine and go do your smog before you boost it.

BTW, the guy I know saw the boost level drop to 4.5 PSI with his Supersprint headers installed. I was looking at getting the Magnaflow headers since they still have cats installed, but high flow cats. My friend managed to raise the boost level back to 6 PSI with a smaller pulley, if I need to I will go this route. Between the RPI exhaust and intake that I already have and the ESS St2 kit and headers I should be close to M5 crank HP numbers. The goal would be to get between 425 - 450 to the wheels (which may mean a Quaiffe will come later as well)

That doesn't mean he lost power, that's actually a good thing. The setup is now far more efficient and has less backpressure so the blower doesn't need to work as hard.

    My bad!
I was looking to see where the supercharger kit could be purchased.... ESSTUNING.com

However, I was also wondering what the status of the OP`s project is?

There is very little feedback on their N62 setup.
