We do not defeat government emissions standards, so we only off downpipes with catalytic converters for all of our platforms. A quality high flow cat generally produces extremely similar numbers.

I agree! Its being worked on, but BMW didn't make it easy. We'll have F-chassis support as soon as possible.

Is this because the 535 uses a different bus/protocol (ie not CAN)? I had heard the new 550i uses this new bus/protocol which was presenting some serious challenges for reflashes.

There are several challenges, but we're working through them. Mainly security and logic stuff at this point... This is the painful part of reverse engineering.

I don't mean for the n55 maps but for the FMIC and downpipe.

Actually we just need better descriptions on the dyno charts in the map notes... I'll update them. In the meantime, if you look at the Stage 2 dyno plot in the map notes, it breaks down like this:

Blue - Stock tuning, Stock parts
Red - Stock tuning, COBB down pipe
Green - Stage2 Aggressive map, stock down pipe
Purple - Stage2 Aggressive, COBB down pipe

I'll try and get something a little better to post up as well.

Nice. The FMIC looks just like the Helix. Do you use the same cores?

I'm also curious how this unit compares to the Helix offering, as both the design and list price are very similar. Is it a rebrand of essentially identical hardware, or is it a unique design that takes its inspiration from the earlier product?

We haven't done a direct comparison, but the stepped design is a great approach for good fitment and surface area for cooling. We use our own in-house designed cores, endtanks, and hardware. We really wanted to focus on the best design (biggest temp drops and low pressure drops) while providing the best fit possible without having to cut anything for install. Personally, I really like the powdercoating to make it a bit 'stealth' as well.

Definitely working on that. You've ruined my weekend, but if I can get everything going in time for the tuning session, it'll be worth it... Assuming I get a test drive Click here to enlarge
