$#@! the warranty -- When's the last time a dealer inspected your turbo (which would require unbolting the underbody guard)??

Presumably every time it goes in to their shop.

??? What's wrong with your car?? I'm FBO and every one in a while I watch them service the car, NEVER seen them take off the underbody guard (which would make the turbos visible). It's a waste of their time unless they need to access something, and a waste of billable service hours.

Just service, preventative maintenance, warranty work and the occasional recall. My dealer is very thorough (#13 nationally) and will usually scan the car electronically and visually to check for normal operation. I have no problem defending passive devices like FMIC and CP from any warranty issues, but DP with different catalysts is pressing it a little too much for me, especially when the gains are so minimal. Any installation will be temporary for Cobb testing purposes.

Quite frankly, I need to on to some rear sub frame bushings and an LSD to properly apply the power it has now as it gets very squirrelly under WOT. Breatheless at high RPM, but loaded with torque down low. Not getting tickets is a major challenge.

Chances are the dealer rating is based more on sales & not really on service skill, and the Service Dept's mentality is keep it stock. It doesn't sound like they're doing anything special (every dealer will run a quick diagnostic & visual inspection on a car even getting an oil change), but not every dealer takes issue with mods. It's not like if you went catless, that there could be ANY negative impact on the lifespan of the turbos; so back to my original point, you're dealer's just being difficult.

Mods & dealers vary from place to place: my dealer doesn't mind I have the Helix FMIC, Akra DPs, ER CP, Forge DVs & a BMS OCC installed, so long as the tune is uninstalled for service. There occasionally are a few ESS supercharged M3s & modded M6s that roll over from ACM, and outside of some mechanical failure that could be related to the mods (like if a bearing got spun & the car has a ESS-650 kit installed), the dealer has no problem doing routine maintenance on the vehicle.
