    Z3 w/ M5 V10

not many details but would be bad ass
    http://www.0-60mag.com/news/2010/08/...owered-bmw-z3/

Apparently somewhere in Eastern Europe, there’s a teenager who has jammed a 5.0L V10 from the current BMW M5 beneath the hood of a Z3 coupe. Details are sketchy, mostly because our Bulgarian illiteracy leaves us dependent on Google Translate to make sense of his website, but as far as we can tell, 18-year-old Denislav Shishev began racing professionally last year in an E30 M3; for this year’s races, however, he’ll be competing using his post-op Z3. He’s chronicled the car’s transformation with a breathtaking number of pictures, chronicling the car’s journey from a broken-down wreck (seriously, it looks like he started with a totaled Z3) into a red-white-and-blue monster laying down 442 horsepower at its incredibly fat rear wheels. Despite our best attempts to Google him, we have no idea what class he may be competing in, or even how Bulgarian auto racing is organized; however, any motorsports organization that allows teenagers to compete in overpowered Frankenstein Bimmers is all right by us. (And if anyone has any further knowledge of Mr. Shishev or his car, let us know in the comments.)

Very, very cool. The S85 deserves a home in more BMW's.

Would be a sweet swap in a Z8 for example Click here to enlarge

I'd love to see the clearance of the exhaust manifolds and steering linkage against the strut towers on that.
Wonder if it was worth the extra nose-weight too.

I'm trying to get details on this. I know a guy who does these swaps, waiting to see it in a new Z4.

Someone should put one of those in something mid-engine and totally unexpected, like a Toyota MR2. Or a Cayman.

I heard of a 3.8L TT in a Cayman, but have not seen it yet.A V10 would be very tight fit as it was in a Z3...

s85 is a work of art, i put it against anything out of italy!! 100hp per liter 8250 redline married to a 7spd gearbox and will do north of 200 in 4000lb cars, imagine this thing in a mid engine car that weighed under 3400!! if i ever hit it big i will put my m6 on a diet and try to keep all the luxury and get it to 3500!! cf hood, doors, fender, and trunk, then a titanium exhasut, light weight battery, and no back seats, that gotta get me there

I'd really love to see one of these shoehorned into an E9, but that's just me Click here to enlarge

I like your line of thinking... I just don't think it would fit.

Sure it could! The M30 is physically longer (inline 6, vs. two inline 5's more or less). I believe the strut towers are at least the same width as the E30, if not slightly wider apart, and I've seen M72's in one of those (effectively 2 cylinders "longer" in the block than the S85) Yep, give me an S85 and 6-speed with the classic lines of an E9 CSL and I think life would be pretty complete for a while Click here to enlarge

Interesting, I never thought the S85 could fit in the E9. If a V12 fit in though, the S85 would.
