Wow that wasn't even close... the GT500 pulled away everytime. ESS' PR regarding their superchargers reminds me of Baghdad Bob... "No there are no Americans inside Baghdad! (Abrams tank rolls down the street)" Click here to enlarge

I have a ton of respect for those GT500s, I got my ass handed to me by one a couple of months ago at the strip.

They are amazing cars, and with a KB, deadly.

Nice runs, that is M33's ESS M3, who's not the most pleasant of people on the forums from what I've seen, lol, he's called me a cheater, rat, trash, etc. but such is the internet and tuner bias BS, like the GT500 owner said, he's probably a real nice guy in person. But props to him for going out and giving it a run, I respect that, a 700whp GT500 is a fast car, but they are heavy and don't have the best aero design, still they run awesome 1/4 mile ET's.

That GT500 was rated at 700whp. A 750whp Kenne Bell GT500 Vbox 60-130 result is 7.75s, here's how it compares.

    6.95 - hotrod182 / 335i w/ JB3 piggyback ECU and Nitrous / 2-shifts
    7.05 - MikeWads / E92 M3 DCT with ESS SC and 100 shot of nitrous / 560rwhp
    7.24 - Acicchelli / Stock SLR
    7.37 - DLSJ5 / SC'd E92 M3 DCT / 3-shifts
    7.59 - Blacksheep / C6 Corvette Z51 (heads/cam, 484 rwhp) / 2-shifts
    7.74 - HoustonT / GT-R / 640 HP (downpipes, y-pipe, BC, hard IC pipes, custom tune)
    7.75 - Shelby GT500, Kenne Bell, 750 rwhp, 1-shift
    7.85 - Acicchelli / Stock LP640 / 2-shifts
    7.86 - Divexxtreme / Stock C6 Z06 / 2-shifts
    7.95 - Byzantine / '06 Gallardo 6-MT, catless exhaust & 105lb weight reduction, 2-shifts
    8.31 - biglare / SC'd E90 M3 DCT / 2-shifts

Here's how fast they are stock -

    9.9 - Lamborghini Gallardo, stock, 2006, 6-MT, 2-shifts
    10.1 - Ferrari F430
    10.3 - BMW M6, stock, 2-shifts
    10.4- E60 M5, stock, 2-shifts
10.48 - C63 AMG with headers and flash
    10.71 - E92 M3 DCT, Bolt On's 3-shifts
    10.93 - E63 AMG
    10.9 - Nissan GT-R
    11.0 - Shelby GT500, stock, 2-shifts
    11.0 - E92 M3 Stroker 6MT
    11.2 - E90 M3 6MT, Bolt Ons
    08 E92 M3 - DCT
Bolt Ons - Best ET 11.88 Best Trap Speed 119.8 MPH
    60-130 MPH (3 shifts) 10.71s
    Gintani Stage 2+ Supercharger 60-130MPH (3 shifts) 7.06s

^ Problem is, he thinks his car is faster than it really is as showcased here. Seems he wasn't expecting a beatdown and thinks he has more HP than he does:

Ya that was an ass whooping. I'd like to see the 60-130 time of that GT500 vs the one drew posted from 6speed and if he got waxed like that it would be epic fail.

stock gt500's are trapping like 112, fully modded w/ported eaton are about 125 and then a stg3 KB (643RWHP) is running about 130+. so upper 12x's is where that car is.. kinda shows what the ESS is capable of, maybe 120-123mph?

More like 115-117. The new one should be a bit stronger as well.

Yes, ESS is in the low 120's.

by the way how do you guys think the GT500 would do around the track with all that power? IMO all that power is best used in a straight line

Not too well, solid rear axle, it is made for the straight line but actually handles reasonably well.

Not necessarily, there is a good spread between 60-130's on KB GT500's. That 60-130 does not necessarily represent this car, only gives an idea of what a GT500 is capable of. There are faster and slower KB cobras. Either way, would be a good run and yes, his car would be a more appropriate match as would yours.

What's up with you not posting any details on your wheels?

I don't quite understand how some of you are saying an ESS 600hp kit would only trap around 123, if some bolt on NA cars are doing 118-119. It just doesn't add up.

I'm just getting back into the BMW scene after a few years vacationing over at the dark side (Audi Click here to enlarge )....so help me understand this. When you see the ESS cars running in Sweden (GTBOARD) or Russia, they seem to hold their own very well. Maybe this KB car was just really strong, and or the drivers of either cars weren't "equal"Click here to enlarge. DCT is a definite advantage, especially if you're not a great driver...

Between Gintani and ESS....is there that big of a difference in power? Drew's car is stout (Hi Drew!).

I think that is the whole point some people try to get across. ESS seems to think their kits are making the most power.

And that they are conservative and safe, which without meth for added safety on 91 is not necessarily the case.

Only one bolt on car did that trap, at SAC, in the winter, with weight stripped out, remember that.

The KB car is quite strong, that is true.

Yes, Gintani Stage 2's are putting out more power than the ESS kits, especially on 91 octane. We are talking low 500's vs. high 500's wheel.
