ICS m50 based cam swap into my built s50 motor with s52 cams.

Well gents and gals as some of you may or may not know I recently took my car to ICS to do a comparo of their stage 1 cams against stock s52 cams which I have installed in my built s50 motor. The results were great. Check out the info below. Click here to enlarge

    GG///M3
    Built 3.0
    Hta GT3586
    Steed Speed Manifold
    24x12x3 Ebay Intercooler
3" exhaust with the Cut out Open.
    3.5 Intake

Certain areas in the graph netted 60-70 rwhp andn 60-70 rwt - I am basing this off "Cameron" 4000 RPM Spot. Click here to enlarge

Yea I was blown away. On 17.5 psi car makes about what it used to make at 21-22psi. We may go back, and do some pulls with race fuel at 26psi. I'm pretty sure this car will make well over 700-750whp. Hardware wise there is room for improvement with the exhaust, intake, and intercooler. With those improvements I wouldn't be shocked if the car made 700whp on pump at about 24psi. Add race fuel to hardware improvements, and I wouldn't be shocked if this turbo made what built Evo's are seeing with this turbo. For reference Evo's running the HTA3586r are making 800whp on race fuel with cams, and ported heads. For the time being I'm going to leave it alone, and enjoy the power. Its a complete beast at this point, and more then I can handle.

Great overlays, those numbers are huge.

What's interesting is when un-tuned the peak numbers were close but look at the difference in the peak torque figures. Once tuned, it just becomes huge.

    Who tuned this?

RK tuning(Jordan). He tunes in house for ICS, and he has made some impressive power on the stock dme.

He has made some where around 670-690whp on the stock dme. With cars trapping in the high 130's to mid 140's.

As am I. Like we discussed. It's not over. More progress to come on how this car performs power wise. I would really like to see what this turbo can do on these motors. In the EVO world as you know they have made nearly 800whp while running 35+psi. I have a feeling it will make over 700whp with a higher octane fuel with 1 3-4 psi bump. I also believe as stated in a earlier post it may make 700whp on pump fuel with a better intercooler, downpipe, and intake. Once we decide to go with upgraded parts from ICS we will do another comparo thread to show how she responds to the mentioned possible upgrades.

    Hi 5
