    BMW 135i t the Track

Short Video of my first track day with the 1er.

    Mods:

    JB4
    Meth Injection
    DCI
    Downpipes

    ER brake lines
    Cool Carbon front pads
    Ferodo DS25000 rear pads
    Titianuim shims

    Michelin PSS 225/18 and 255/18

My lines are exactly good and the track is pretty small, but thats the only one near where I live. I let the Challenger go away so I could have a couple of clean laps but I quickly found myself slowing down and waiting for the straight to pass him (no passing in the curves for me). Those cars are very heavy and not quite good at turning. I was pushing about 60% of the car cappabilities when I was behind him.

Overall a short video because uploading to youtube takes years. This was the 3rd 7-min session. On the first one I turned the calipers yellow and there was siginificant ammount of smoke coming from the front brakes, CoolCarbons werent fully bedded I guess but the held up good, having the ferodos in the rear REALLY helps the car slow down. I have the OEM fluid (recently changed for the track day) so I guess the titanium shims do indeed help.

I couldnt do longer session because I kept having misfires and CEL when te car get really hot.

You can see the JB4 FSB at work at the end of the video, meth ran out as you can see in the Oil Gauge (Working as meth flow gauge). I let off a couple of seconds after that.

PS: Feel free to rep me even if you dont like the video, Vargas Turbos would make for a great birthday present!

I havent, but I guess they could work depending on the track and how hard you are.

I've done it with my last car, an Audi A3, and altough they did fade, you could sort of "predict" that, what I would consider tough will be the lines and the brake fluid, believe, there´s not a more scary feeling that feeling the brake pedal going all the way down and not braking when chasing a car very close in the track

I think you could do track days an auto x with stock pads, as long as you dont go all out trying to conquer the Piston Cup ( Cars? Anybody? great movie! lol), many people on the forums have done it succesfully.

I personally would look at least into a decent brake fluid and brake lines, due to past experiences. This time I had the lines and the Ti shims, wich paired with 10 min session didnt allow my liquid/pads to become overheated/faded.

    Hope that helps

if youre serious about tracking upgrade the pistons in the calipers and get some respectable pads, SS lines and fluid.

I am a total noob when it comes to track. Did you guys have to take a course or some kind of class before actually driving on the track?

No, you can go with run groups that haven't been before moving to groups with guys who have more experience.

Very fun car to road race. Next track event try using Motul RBF600 Brake fluid. You'll notice the difference.
