I've got Glenmorangie 18, but my daily sippin tea is Johnny Walker Black. Not sure why I like it so much but its easy to drink and cheap.

A buddy of mine had a bottle of 1969 Macallan that we polished off one night when I was moving away from Dubai UAE back to North America. That stuff was terribly strong - kinda neat to have drunken something worth more than my turbo system.

My friend and I bought out our local liquor store's supply of Oban 15 (16 bottles):

It's been hard to find and they're switching from a Oak to Sherry cask finish. Should appreciate in value, but if it doesn't, I get to drink it all Click here to enlarge

I think the Sherry cask should improve it IMO.

Then again, I have yet to taste it.

    Still, badass pic!

Yep. Specs hasn't had this for nearly 6 months now and I was just randomly checking out bottles online when I saw it was available.

They received 2 cases (12 bottles each) the day before we bought out the 16 that were remaining (8 bottles sold within a day).

Meant Balvenie 15. We picked these up for $75 each after tax.

Oban 15 Distiller's Edition is freaking delicious though. Not sure how' Oban 15 is finished, but I love that one too. It's about $95 a bottle though.

Got a bottle of this "Snow Phoenix" Glenfiddich awhile back. Story goes that a roof collapse destroyed the distillery and this was from one of the casks that survived.
It was awful. They should have thrown the remaining casks in to the ocean.Click here to enlarge

I was expecting some big buildup only to read that.

Well, I'm out of whiskey gents. So I'm stuck sipping on Remy Martin VSOP.

No sugar coating it, went down like sand paper.

I made my way to Scotch from Brandy. I use to keep a stock of Henessy Pardis at the house. Unfortunately Brandy (Cognac specifically) started having a ghetto connotation to it. It got to the point where I would sit down at the bar, order a cognac, and get glared at by the bartender. "Another wanna be rap star / pimp who's going to throw me a 25 cent tip"

I mean you really shouldn't care what the bartender thinks. They are there to serve you whatever you want. Frankly, they don't even need to be there I'm very capable of grabbing my own drink.

Cristal had this point where they disliked their hip-hop association but it's a damn fine wine. Just get whatever drink you want that satisfies your palate and don't give a $#@! about the people buying something for the brand name. There are douchebags out there that put their Ferrari on chrome rims.

I agree 100%, unfortunately if I want a second round or decent service with a date I do rely on them a bit. In my town, even the $#@!tiest bars get stacked 2 rows deep and are bigger then most cities large bars. It worked out for the best, now Cognac, or better yet YAKK, is similar to sipping maple syrup to me.

I feel like there is a "demo tape" joke to be inserted some where in this response.Click here to enlarge

oh dear, what swill, would you like me to pour it down the sink sir?

... but seriously, I know a guy that got so over Moet compared to 'better' brands (Ace of Spades allegedly) he poured the remainder down the sink. What a wanker
