You ran 10.5 psi on the street with water/meth? Did VF give you the higher boost pulley or did you do it yourself?

I did it all myself, added a T Trim blower, the WM setup and slightly smaller pulley, eventually I went with a Larger Crank Pulley and a larger SC'r pulley to prevent it from slipping. I always ran race fuel when I did these runs, but DD yes 91+Meth.

Very nice bud, surprised you weren't worried about over 10 psi on the stock internals... I'm having that dilemma.

It's an LP640 with a cat delete, rated at 670hp.

    Do you know the guy?

Eh, tell me more about why you decided to go to 10 psi on the stock internals and how you decided to do it on your own. That essentially was an unofficial stage 2+ kit.

Yes, he's a friend, but he no longer has the LP640. Click here to enlarge

Simple, I wanted more power! I added a few psi, the WM gave it the octane and extra fuel it needed, but I constantly monitered the car, I wouldn't recommend anyone doing it otherwise. On race fuel you can run a little leaner as well, but the car was in the 11.5-11.8 range at WOT. Yes unofficial I guess, VF never sold this as a kit or an option, but a few guys did acquire a T-trim and a WM kit and ran it. 10-11psi should be okay with the right octane, but without it your motor will not last. AA is now running 12psi with 91 and Meth on stock internals, and HPF cars I've heard have hit as high as 16psi. Click here to enlarge

You think that would carry over to the S65? I've been pushing Alex to run more boost but he is staying conservative, which is good.

I will be building the motor eventually (got to stay on top of the game Click here to enlarge ) but don't want to push it too far yet.

How tough is it changing the pulley? I'm sure I could just run more boost in certain situations (with C16).

I'm impressed you did that on your own.

Bummer about him no longer having the 640.

For those certain days you want to beat the other guy, as long as you are on C16 and the AFR's are good, I don't see why not, but the S65 does have 12.5:1 compression. Still if 16psi is doable on the S54 (stock internals) maybe 10-12 psi is on the S65. But your 130 trap was very exciting, the HPF cars, even the 2.5's have trapped around that. One HPF car hit 134 I believe but that was on a non NHRA track, so not sure if it's accurate as all the others have hit 122-130, also TC'd cars do not suffer as much from conditions as SC'd cars do.

12.0:1 , only half point difference vs s54 and much, much lower piston speeds due to shorter stroke.

I think 10-11 psi on C16 on stock internals would be doable.

What is the BMW stock internal 60-130 record right now? My Vbox broke btw...

Honestly, our trap speeds are slightly higher than they should be due to Sac but... I have something special being done to the car right now as well Click here to enlarge Hopefully Alex e-mails me soon so I can reveal it.

No worries, I just have to ask you, when you increased boost did you take the risk because you were willing to build the motor if anything happened?

Possibly and I always considered doing that down the road, but knowing what I know now I'm glad I never blew it or went that route with the S54. It seems those motors are very difficult to build right, the tolerances are very tight. The only company so far to build these motors and run high boost on a good # of cars is HPF.

I would venture to guess VF is no longer on the table. However, Drew can answer this best on his own, I am curious as well.

Fair question, as of now VF doesn't have a kit out for the E92. Mspired is a good friend of mine, and his situation was unfortunate, but it appears it will be rectifed soon. Click here to enlarge IMHO some of the CS criticisms are warranted but a great deal of the other stuff is hyperbole IMHO, but I do not want to discuss it anymore, I just want Mike to be on the road again. I think VF has some work to do, but they make good products, my E46 was a lot of fun and ran great. I'm keeping my options open, but yes do want to go FI soon.

VF did sell the 2+ as a kit to one person, ME!
