Evolve gains 46.8 wheel horsepower naturally aspirated on an E46 M3 S54 with their carbon airbox and Alpha-N tuning for a total of 326.8 wheel horsepower

Wow, some incredible gains and results on the E46 M3 S54 motor from Evolve Automotive. The vehicle here is an E46 M3 which completely stock put down 280 wheel horsepower in SAE correction on the dynojet at ICS Performance. After the baseline, the car received the Evolve airbox which alone raised output to 295 wheel horsepower. Combined with European E46 M3 headers (which differ from US headers as they they do not have the integrated catalytic converter) output went to 312.9 wheel horsepower.

312.9 by itself is a very nice horsepower number for the E46 M3. To fully take advantage of the Evolve airbox though, an Alpha-N tune was necessary. The result? 326.8 wheel horsepower, naturally aspirated. Simply incredible results and gains that were once unheard of from the supposedly "maxed out" S54.

To put 46.8 wheel horsepower gained in perspective, this would take the S54 engine in this M3 to about 388 crank horsepower good for 121.25 horsepower per liter. That is elite specific output territory on a naturally aspirated six-cylinder motor especially above 3 liters of displacement. And it is achieved with just an airbox, tune, and Euro spec headers.

Great work by Evolve Automotive who continues to astound with their tuning prowess. Dynographs in SAE, uncorrected, and showing weather conditions below.

I've said this before, but it is amazing how far E46 M3 tuning has come. Great things are in the works, so hopefully many members can share their builds here soon!

Would be interesting to see what this would hit with the Supersprint headers as well as some head/cam work. 350 wheel NA? Maybe...

    Interesting indeed...

We might be finding out what Evolve can do with an E46 M3 with Evolve CF Airbox, Supersprint V1 Stepped Headers, Supersprint V1 SPipe, and Schrick 288/280 Cams (no headwork).

Probably because of limited character space in the title? And because if you want more details you click it and read the description which clearly goes over all the mods and provides the dyno graphs corrected, uncorrected, and with weather conditions for each mod clearly listed/graphed to answer any other questions you might have?

So you are nitpicking my title based on what, all the supporting information being there? And the title being accurate that Evolve did gain exactly what was stated? And that their carbon airbox and Alpha-N tuning are a major part of the reason for it? So what was misleading again? Notice the title doesn't say ONLY with those mods? And you had to read further for more details? OMG conspiracy.

Nice try I guess? Wow some people are total idiots.

I'm starting to think the same thing. Plus the E46 M3 despite its lower limits was more fun to drive than the E92 M3 I must say. And the looks are more classic.

I think I may be able to finally let go not having the "newest" to show off.

Even after this people claim EVOLVE don't know what their doing. I say this result is a big FU to those people.

EVOLVE you are doing an amazing and honest job and I have never been so proud to represent a company such as EVOLVE. After speaking to Sal and Imran tonight I cant wait for my headers to arrive so they can do a custom tune on my car again. Ill be using a dynapack dyno this time.

The Evolve E9x M3 N/A tune is amazing to say the least. If you intend to go catless, I would suggest TTP's, and the tune, and your gold. After actually having the tune, the HP is actually the side benefit of the rest of what it does for your car. I much MUCH prefer the feel of my car with the N/A EVolve tune over what I have now. Not to mention, Evolve DOES have the N/A 60-130 record, for US cars.. and that was with bare mods..
