OK...just did a search....the e92 m3 did VIR 4 seconds slower than Camaro but 10 seconds faster on the ring? That would tell me that the M3 is faster at high speeds but the Camaro handles better right?

I am impressed by that time. It's 6 seconds faster than the old M6. Very very impressive on BMW's part regardless if its slower than the XKR-S.

Funny isn't it. The whale of a car is lining up next to supercar territory. Just amazes me. The m6 losing to a boxter s. Something is up with the BMW driver. I wish these tests were by the same driver so it's FACTUAL data. This is good data just meh.

How does the Camaro ss lose 8 seconds and its the same car? This is not adding up. Even with tire and suspension updates a 2-3 second quicker time is expected. Not 8 seconds.

Not the same car at all. Brakes suspension and power will easily make up for 8 seconds.

I'm talking about the SS from 2010 and this SS. The 2010 SS went 3:10 vs this other SS that went 3:01. Was there that many updates between 2010 and now? Am I missing something?

edit* just checked out Chevy.com and see the 1LE is the equivalent to the Boss 302. However, it's weight is still somewhat similar around 3900 lbs. I'm sorry but I'm not seeing how this equates to 8 seconds. In their defense though, they are incredibly consistent. Their E92 M3 times from 2 seperate years are .2 seconds apart. The first year they had some transmission issues with the DCT so they brought back a 6 speed manual car the following year.

Ahh, I thought you were talking about ZL1 vs SS. I'm not too sure about that. It could be different drivers that leads to different experience in another car. I mean I don't think the Camaro SS is nearly as easy to drive as an M3.
