Question I looked outside this morning and....

Saw snow covering the ground, which essentially makes my chode of a car useless as of now. This time of year always makes me want an Evo/STi. Have any of you went from an n54 to either of the two, or vice versa?

Every time i see an STI i consider it. I really wish i had gotten a new STI, but they just dont make that much power....

I've been up to date on that thread, Evo's just seem so potent for a 4 banger I love it. I'm sure it handles in the same respect as my 1 series, just so much more grip. So many pro's and con's throwing around the two cars.

    Evo
    -AWD: very beneficial in Jersey
-4G63: makes good power with bolt on's, and can get nutty with a bigger snail. Tons on aftermarket
-Not a BMW (pulling out the douchebag card on this one)
    -More noticable turbo lag
    -Cop magnet

    135i
    -SOOO fun to drive
-Would be hard to let go of my first car
    -Instantaneous power
    -JB4
-Kinda small, not too worried about it. I hate driving people

That's a perfect scenario for an accident.

I had an 06 Evo 9 and I miss it till this day, but I never really needed AWD in the first place. I miss the the raw feeling of driving the car as it made me feel like a juvenile lol, but I certainly don't miss all the unwanted attention from ricers, cops and thieves.

My friend has one with an AMS 2.2 and some HTA turbo, sounds wild under WOT. And moves out for sure, but it definitely does ask for unwanted attention. It's crazy how much taking the wing off can do but thats all I could think of to "tone" it down.

Unfortunately it's realistic. Only other accident I ever was in was my friend driving his Audi like a retard on the freeway and he hit a car merging at high speed.

I just don't like to drive with teenagers, period.

Good and bad... unfortunately mostly bad. The daily driving qualities of the BMW make it better for that reason alone if anything. I have yet to meet someone who went from a 335i/135i to an EVO/STI and not regretted it... I have seen vice-versa many times. EVOs and STIs are great cars but to me those are cars with a race pedigree... I would never be seen in one with below 600 WHP and built motor hence making it useless to DD>
    2007 335i (100% stock with mods)

    N54 is not a German 2JZ lol

Snow tires and wheels are cheaper than an AWD import. I came to a 335is from a 2010 STi. Wouldn't go back.
