yessir... I'm planning on going with d force in 17" to get more sidewall, how wide of rim, what offset and how wide tire front/rear with what offset/ spacers or not, is the big question I'll be wanting Mickey Thompson ET streets for the Rear.

so the guys from proven power in Tampa are tearin into the car and shot me a message saying they will need to pull the motor to do the Manifold.. I'll be callin and talking to them tomorrow as I'm traveling to work in Alaska right now..

that will jump the price up a decent amount.

any thoughts on a well fabbed top mount instead to avoid pulling the motor?

Trying to fab a manifold in those tight confines without pulling the motor is really a huge PITA. I think they are doing the right thing. I mean I actually went and bought a long block so I could have a motor in the car and on the stand. LIFE SAVER for something this tight.

I'm not worried about "paying to play" lol otherwise I wouldn't be doing the project. it is what it is

really I was wondering what the thoughts were on a top mount being potentially more laggy and/or less efficient

That all depends on the manifold. Spooling a turbo has more to do with HEAT (Kenetic Energy) than exhaust velocity, but exhaust velocity also comes into play for great top end power and efficiency once the turbo is spooled. Great manifolds find a happy median of the two.

A top mount probably will be easier to design without pulling the motor (compared to a bottom mount). For reference, I just removed the passenger's side motor mount and jacked the engine up a few inches. I just used a measuring tape and the stock turbos to get the general dimensions. Mine consists of 2 manifolds and an uppipe. The manifolds I had all tacked together before I even pulled the stock turbos. The uppipe I built on the car.

Shorter tubing usually translates to faster spool, but you don't want to sacrafice a smooth path to the turbo. Extra transitions, bends, and general weirdness reduce overall flow.

You can always reroute it back into the downpipe so you don't get that rasp/scream.

Out of curiosity, and hopefully without starting a $#@!storm, why aren't you just going with the FFTEC single setup? Seems like by the time you design a custom manifold at shop rates you will be near parity cost wise. If it's because you don't want to use Vinshu tuning, Burger could tune FFTEC setup just as easily no?

Very cool project regardless. Can't wait to see it completed!
