Its not uncommon. I had a stock turbo car do the same thing on me on too much boost. I had to have it towed back to the shop as it was going to lose all the oil out the exhaust. Turbine wheel hub was in the muffler.

This explains a lot, when I first got into this platform I had a customer pushing 20 psi and wondering why his turbos kept going bad. Knowing what I know now it would have been an easy diagnosis.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you are holding 17psi till redline. I have run 18psi peak tapering down to 13psi all year long without issues.

I don't run to redline personally anyway (I shift usually around 6250). My peak PWM is around 5500rpm with my taper. Click here to enlarge I am not too worried either though. I hear my turbos a bit more on cold morning now, but its really not too serious. Been tuned for 45k miles now and at 17.5psi peak for over 30k. When the time comes that will be it. We'll see!

Any chance you got a log with PWM and 17psi near redline? I'd love to see it to get an idea of how much room is left on the PWM threshold.

Made it up to Tampa with no issue. Car is in Proven Powers hands now for the manifold, head flange and dowpipe fabbing. I should get some pics of the progress rolling in within the next week and i will post them as I get them. Click here to enlarge Looks like we are on track to pick up the car when I get home from work next time, which should be around the weekend of Jan 20th. Once we get her home we will fit it all in place and build the exhaust. Exciting stufff Click here to enlarge

You're gonna need wider rims and tires than those little guys sitting on your 162s. 10.5 - 11 rear w/ 285 min, your sedan will accommodate wider with the correct offset, 9 up front 255 min.
