Here are the photos of how the expansion tank and power steering reservoir are mounted. They used factory mounting points. Cowling and everything fits in place normally.

Yeah, I stopped by on Monday and Darrell showed me around a bit. Some pretty cool work in there, but mostly just talked about your car...

I have no idea how the CP would fit around this with the stock airbox or DCIs

Any idea what PSI you will see when you crank it up to it's potential? Any reason you are holding it back?

I am probably wrong but I think rbs give similar acceleration with a manual. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Is the Vargas HPFP giving you issues?

This car should be a beast!

just keeping it off the 1 bar wastegate spring for now to get fueling finished and tuned. it would be a bit quicker I'm sure with out the 450lbs of passengers lol.

shooting for 600whp on 1 bar and won't turn boost up until the trans is swapped Click here to enlarge

Expansion tank from 335d that moves it to the drivers side.

Has to be done anyway, so thats the plan.

That pic actually has the original tank still functioning on the passenger side, so you can see where it's moved from and the why should be obvious in a thread about big single install...

How does the trans feel currently? Curious to see how it holds 600whp

ohohhh thanks, yeah i see, totally 100% mirrored

need custom lines, or just the OEM lines from the 535d?

yeah ok, the why now makes sense, and did before even when i first saw it, had a derp moment. MUCH more room haha

    relocating the vacuum canisters too?

why did you need a custom charge pipe regardless? cold side of the intercooler would otherwise have been the same no?

    very very cool man.

The chargepipe bumps into the tank because normally it is not situated that way. This is my understanding.

Would be the same OEM lines from 335d, but close enough to the 335i the I'll just cut and reuse my own. If you wanted oem part #s its 17127805263 & 17127803838 I think.

Canisters would go away if I ran a similar external wastegate setup to the OP. My preference, like AK and Proven Power, would be a bigger CP and BOV rather than stock DVs once there's nowhere to recirc to.

ahh true.. since it's just wastegate control, and you'll run a boost actuated rather than vacuum? it'd be interesting if you could still run a vacuum actuated one for factory-like control

the nowhere to recirc to is a good point... wonder if there's a non-complex way of getting it doen since i have to keep everything recirc -_-

Thanks, yea its promising... We were running out of fuel and falling on its face at 5800 rpm and still made 520-550/466-497 by 5800 rpm according to VD... It will be nice once the fueling is finished and timing is added and we dyno it. Still hope to make around 600Whp at 16psi.

It feels ok now, its been flashed. I dont expect it to last very long though. No slips yet, but i havent let it shift on its own under WOT except for a few times.

The car has around 35K miles, we will probably do the fluid. I originally planned on doing a tranny cooler, but with the 6466 and the power potential it is showing at low boost, i do not think ill waste the time/effort/money on this. The next move this fall is a tranny swap if 517trans is not worthy and then building motor next year. Plan on being one of the first to close in on 900Hp in the future Click here to enlarge
