I almost got a 6AT for the shop car ans was going to try running a 4L80E with a holly tranny controller and swap the DME for a 6MT version to get rid of the AT logic in the DME that would not be ok with no reading the tranny unless someone could just turn it off like COBB. This is a viable option but a lot of work. This set up would insure these cars very very deep in to the 10 with traction.

That's was exactly what we've been talking about. No doubt the auto is ftw for drag racing, but the "oemness" of the 6mt is appealing.

I think the 6AT and 6MT have the same DME, it's just a mater of coding (hopefully).

As above, You can turn 6at to 6mt with some simple coding - pretty much 'transmission = x' and for me the fix is needed mainly for cruise control (needing to go to zero throttle)

my dme is from a 6at, but being installed with a 6mt Click here to enlarge

so the hard part would be the rest haha

I want to do a 6MT swap, but my question is whether or not the wiring harness is the same in each car, since the DME seems to be the same. Are the correct wires for both transmissions built into every car (seems like it would be easier / cheaper this way)? And then the unecessary wires are just tucked up under the carpet or something?

the two wire harnesses are not the same, there are extra components on the AT hardness

assuming for TCU. not sure what else.

Go with a new transmission all together IMO. Getting the car to recognize a 6mt is a coding issue that I'm very interested in, DCT swap once those bugs are sorted Click here to enlarge

Okay, so I think these may be the harnesses that need to be swapped (there is a P/N for AT and another for MT). It's really cheap and can probably just be run with the old one unplugged and in place. Not sure if any other wiring is needed; but hopfully this hooks up the pedal switches, reverse light switch, and any other electronics necessary for a 6MT. These P/N's are for an '07 BTW.

Its just a coding issue. To swap in a different automatic tranny altogether (4l80e) what I'd do first is code the car to be a 6MT. No need to swap DMEs, its just a VO number I think and you can do it with a free tool like NCSEXPERT or WinKFP. I doubt it'd have any issues provided you wired in an appropriate TCU to the transmission and gave it the basic signals it needs. I'm sure it'd require a bit of wiring and fiddling but I don't see this being the hard part. The hard part would probably be fitting it in my case...for a fab shop though, not really, just another day at the shop

I would send Mike Benvo an email and ask the coding questions. If it can be done he will know.

went to a dyno jet... found out after why I was losing fuel lol. fixed it and went to the track to see my trap speed and it was closed due to rain when I got there Click here to enlarge

Anyway 526whp/417wtq at 15.5psi(wastegate). and it was running lean. I found out shortly after the dyno when the car stalled and I found one of the fuel hoses disintegrated at the fitting and fallen off. I guess I'll have to re dyno now that it is getting all the fuel lol. I'll post the dyno in the morning

The numbers sound good, but this just goes to show what power under the curve means. 526 whp but still has trouble pulling on a FBO stock twins car. Looking forward to seeing the higher boost numbers and more importantly - trap speed.

whoa there lol... I was having issues with the tranny not knowing what gear it was in and not getting all the fuel it needed due to deteriorating fuel hoses... nonetheless the stock turbo car I ran is very quick, but I'll post this dyno and you can tell me about power under the curve vs a FBo stock turbo..
