Vettel and Schumi won the contest for countries.

Guess who won the individual competition?

I think it is quite silly to hold this event in a country where so little interest exists for motorsport.
For a true spectator event the showing of people was quite pathetic.
Bankok did not even produce a half full station of people for this event one single day.

What exactly is this race? I know Schumi and Vettel won but what's the purpose?

The race of Champions is held every year since 1988 between the best drivers in the world, being ralley, F1, etc... with different cars on stadium circuits.
There is also a Nations cup.
Thses stadiums are normally packed with spectators. But in Bankok you could shoot a cannon in the stadium and not hit anyone.

The results of the races since the beginning of this gives an insight of the skills involved.:

    Too much-VW-vehicles, too much-politics-involved, too much-absence-of-Loeb, too much-lack-of-holding-in-a-better-country.

I watch in on TV, so why should I care where it's held? As long as its live and in HD.

Reason for holding it in Tailand was that it's closer to what is now the "center" of the the world, mainly for time-related factors I suppose, to get a better all round time slot. USA morning, europe afternoon, asia at night.

Loeb was missed, but still there was an amazing array of talent on show. Someone is sponsoring so its natural that the cars come from the same family tree...

Too much crying in this thread.
