from my experience, a person's happiness is set by the person. I see folks that have everything hate their lives and folks that have nothing being happy as can be. Everyone has a set stress level and they find ways to fill them. During BS, i stress about work then during the summer I stress about what car to buy. At the end of the day, you can let that kep you down or be happy that you woke up each day and enjoy those moments you love like driving your car, drinking with your buddies, or tricking a girl into letting you play with her V.

I totally agree. Wife is the same way, claims she does too much for work (its true) but when I ask why she keeps taking on this new stuff she can't really give me a straight answer. If it's too much, I personally would have the balls to say to my boss - no, it's too much. Now I'm glad my wife doesn't have a set of balls (other than mine of course) but I just wish she'd stand up for herself more or do something to change her situation so she wasn't "so stressed". I just am not sure I see that happening because no matter what she is doing, it's her than puts the pressure on herself to the point where it becomes stressful (at least to some extent).

I think it's more of a cultural thing I the US to pride yourself on putting work before everything else. We're the only country to have no mandated vacation time. Compare that to my relatives in Poland who have at the very minimum 20 days of guaranteed paid leave plus holidays. Here it's more dependent on getting an employer that values work/life balance which isn't terribly easy to do.

I have a few projects with European companies and I swear, they are either on vacation or on Holiday at least half of the year. Makes getting $#@! done hard when you can't get an answer from them for a month.

this. I had to include "Italian Holidays" in my google calendar just so I could know when to expect to be able to reach someone if we need to.

Browse p0rn at work, leave work, pick up Nexus and open the same web page since it syncs together.

firefox does the same thing, and so far it seems more stable. My chrome devices were constantly asking me to log in again and again.

It definitely loads faster, but I'll take a split second slower browsing since I'm also running an accounting database, a few instances of excel, pandora desktop app, etc for some freed up memory.
