What's the motivation for getting something else? I mean, like you said, you've put a lot into this current car and getting rid of it right away seems a little strange. And you know what you're getting with this car, with a new (to you) car, not always the case. The youngest E46 M3 at this point is still 7 years old, and is gonna need SOMETHING...probably wear items like bushings/shocks at least...

you'd probably wanna reinforce subframe right away...we all know what happens with SMG transmissions...

That's all $#@! I'd be budgeting for. I mean don't let me talk you out of one thing or another, just we're looking at the same cars so good to bounce ideas around. Only reason I'm in the market is because even though I have 2 cars technically they're not mine. If I had a well sorted ZHP I owned outright I doubt I'd be looking...

39k in 9 years doesn't seem like a lot of use though and the price I will likely be stealing this for will allow for some reconditioning and mods.

oh dude, I owe on the ZHP, only had it a year.

well thats the thing... going from an 04 zhp with 102k on it to this 04 m3 with 39k would literally cost me maybe $25 more a month to finance (granted I'll be adding a year more worth of payments though).

You talking about PPI reminds me to never buy a used car again. NCFL (new car for life) if you were wondering.

Disagree... let someone else take the depreciation hit and if you are mechanically inclined and know what you're getting into, why buy new?

I played the used game, not for me. <10k miles and <2 years old would still be okay, and from the brand's dealership.

Yea buying used with warranty is nice to hedge your "unfamiliarity" and any potential teething problems... I've had an S54 and know the E46 M3 well enough to know what to expect. And Porsches are crazy reliable if you take care of them, and get lucking on IMS/RMS
